Two of the hottest players in the world
If you had named the two brightest football on the planet, a lot would say Eden Hazard and Virgil van Dijk. Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo's time is up - with both players' clubs (Barcelona & Juventus) signing deals with rivals PES 2020.
It is a shame we will no longer see Hazard's brilliance the Premier League, but few can say he doesn't deserve to be the latest Galactico at Real Madrid. Last season the Belgian picked up a Europa League winners medal and was named Premier League fans' Player of the Year. Featuring on the main cover for FIFA 20 caps a brilliant year for the tricky winger.
As for Virgil van Dijk, the centre half is the favourite to pick up the Ballon d'Or this coming season. The Dutch international helped take Liverpool within a point of the Premier League title, falling just short of Manchester City, but made more than amends in winning the Champions League.
Van Dijk's efforts were rewarded with both the PFA Player of the Year and Premier League Player of Season awards. His £75 million move from Southampton 18 months ago now looks like a bargain. The question is now will he be the highest rated player on FIFA 20?
No more Ronaldo?
Cristiano Ronaldo was stripped as the cover star halfway through FIFA 19's release. This was due to the rape allegations against him, for which he has now been cleared.
Ronaldo was then subbed out for the trio of Kevin De Bruyne, Paulo Dybala and Neymar. Juventus's deal with PES 2020 ruled Dybala out of the running and Neymar's transfer uncertainty made him too big a risk.
As for PES 2020, they have already locked in their cover stars. Lionel Messi is in the main man, following the renewal of Konami's deal with Barcelona, but the Argentine will not be the only man gracing the cover.

Manchester United's Scott McTominay was a surprise selection, and he joins Messi alongside Bayern Munich winger Serge Gnabry and Juventus midfield maestro Miralem Pjanic.
Barcelona legend and World Cup winner Ronaldinho will be the cover star for the Legends Edition.
More details surround FIFA 20 will arrive at Gamescom next month, but we could get a sneak preview at the FIFA eWorld Cup at the start of August.
