Best Jordan 6 Colorways 2022: Our Top Picks From The Latest Releases

There's a lot to consider when searching for the best Jordan 6 colorways, especially as there have been some incredible Retro's and unique designs as of late, making it hard to determine what our overall top picks are.

In fact, despite the silhouette being over 30 years old, Nike continues to make new colorways for the Jordan 6's to this day.

This may, in part, be due to their popularity given Michael Jordan wore a pair of 6's when he captured his first NBA title with the Bulls in 1991, kicking off the original three-peat.

Whatever the reason, we've decided to round up some of our favorites right here. From Retro remakes, like the 2021 "Carmine" release, to "Chinese New Year" inspired designs, we've gathered the very best from some of the more recently released colorways.

We've also highlighted a few upcoming Jordan 6 arrivals for you to mark in your diary to add to your sneaker collection in the future.

Best Jordan 6 Colorways

Best All-Round Jordan 6 Colorway - Air Jordan 6 "Bordeaux"

The "Bordeaux" Jordan 6 may look familiar; however, it actually first featured on one of the original Jordan 7 releases rather than the 6.

Due to its success back then, Nike decided to apply the black and grey color scheme to the Jordan 7's predecessor, and the results are fantastic.

Durabuck covers the uppers, while the signature Bordeaux geometric pattern is prominent on the inner-facing tongue and sock liners to match the purple and orange details around the laces.

You also get the usual translucent outsole to round off this excellent Jordan 6 colorway.

Best Jordan 6 Retro Colorway - Air Jordan 6 Retro "Carmine"

The Air Jordan 6 "Carmine" returned in 2021 in a form almost identical to the 1991 originals which Michael wore when he won his first ring.

The upper combines red, white, and black to represent the Chicago Bulls’ signature colors, while the sole is constructed out of translucent, icy-blue rubber which slightly deviates from the OG design.

What we like most about these sneakers though is the Nike Air logos on the heels which are, once again, returning for 2021 after previous Retro releases having featured the Jumpman emblem instead.

Ultimately, the "Carmine" 6's have a ton of history contained within an all-around great-looking Retro colorway, thus earning them a spot on our list.

Best Every Day Jordan 6 Colorway - Air Jordan 6 Retro "Electric Green"

For everyday wear, we feel the simplistic nature of the "Electric Green" colorway makes this Jordan 6 a great option to consider.

Interestingly, this is a re-visited colorway from what was originally a Player Exclusive release and, while time has moved on, the design remains a classic.

The uppers are made from Durabuck and come dressed entirely in black. The only contrasts are the Electric Green accents around the midsoles, tongues, and heel tabs, while the outsole comes in almost a gum-like, translucent rubber.

All in all, we feel there's a lot to like about the "Electric Green" design, particularly for everyday wear, thus making it a top Jordan 6 colorway.

Best Women's Jordan 6 Colorway - Air Jordan 6 "Gold Hoops"

Out of all the women's exclusive releases, we feel the "Gold Hoops" colorway is up there as one of the best.

Nike says it was actually inspired by big hooped earrings for this release which may come as no surprise given the sneakers feature gold, interlocking rings attached to the lace toggles.

Elsewhere, the uppers are composed of a white tumbled leather, with hints of pale pink added around the tongues, heels, and midsoles.

You also get a milky-white, translucent rubber outsole in keeping with the OG Jordan 6 colorways designs.

Best Jordan 6 Low Colorway - Air Jordan 6 Low "Chinese New Year"

The low-top "Chinese New Year" 6 release is a great example of Nike's attention to detail when it comes to the changing of the calendar.

The design begins with white leather uppers containing perforated panels, with gold details around the lace toggles and midsoles that give connotations of a celebration.

By contrast, you get an icy-blue outsole, much like the "Carmine" colorway, while inside the shoes you get a marbled print of tiger camouflage commemorating the Year of the Tiger.

Overall, these "Chinese New Year" low-tops feature an intricate and eloquent design that, we feel, deserves a place on our list.

The long-rumored Air Jordan 6 "Red Oreo" has now seemingly been confirmed following a number of on-feet leaked images emerging online.

The nickname "Red Oreo" appears to derive from the sneaker's similarities to the original colorway released back in March 2010 which also combined white leather with red accents.

It's expected that the "Red Oreo" colorway will debut on 4 June 2022; however, Nike has not confirmed this just yet, so make sure you stay tuned to find out more right here.

Frequently Asked Questions About Air Jordan 6's

With so many different variations of the Jordan 6, you may have a number of questions about them.

Don't worry though, because we're here to clear up a few of the most common queries.

Do Jordan 6's Run Big?

Generally speaking, Jordan's are said to fit true to size for the most part; however, you may find going a size up to be beneficial for playing in if you've got slightly wider feet as this should ensure your feet remain comfortable and supported, without feeling too restrictive.

This should apply to the Jordan 6's as well. If you're unsure though, Nike usually has a handy size chart you can refer to for extra peace of mind.

How Many Jordan 6's Are There?

The Air Jordan 6 first debuted in five different colorways, two Infrared versions in white and black and three alternate versions which include the original "Carmine".

Since then, there have been over 39 unique variations including the low-tops which debuted in 2002.

Moreover, in 2014, 10 versions of the Jordan 6 came out including a Retro remake of the highly popular "Carmine" model previously mentioned.

Are Air Jordan 4s Comfortable?

We've previously discussed whether Jordan's are comfortable in general, but we didn't go into too much detail about the Jordan 6 in particular.

To start with, it's worth mentioning all Jordan 6's include Nike's Air technology, as seen via the midsole bubble, which should act as a great starting point for comfort.

However, one of the most important aspects of making sure your Jordan 6's are comfortable is to make sure you get the right fit.

We'd recommend leaving about a finger's width of space between your longest toe and the end of the shoe as this will make sure your sneakers are bending in the correct place as it should align to the natural bend of your foot.
