The Spotlight has, once again, fallen back onto Activision Blizzard as yet another decision from the company behind massive games like Call of Duty and World of Warcraft has been deemed controversial.
Acitivision Blizzard is no stranger to controversy, with multiple reports of harassment and a toxic work environment surfacing after a Wall Street Journal article gave a massive insight into the situation, how bad it was and how much CEO Bobby Kotick knew about it.
Despite these controversies, it seems that Kotick and the Activision Blizzard board will be sticking around. Here is all the info.

Shareholders Vote To Re-Elect Board of Directors
The decision made was at a stockholder meeting on Tuesday, 22nd 2022 that saw shareholders vote either for or against several issues at the company.
Out of all the issues voted upon, the most impactful was the decision whether or not the current directors to the board would have their terms extended to 2023. A decision that the shareholders nearly unanimously agreed upon, with 91% of the vote in favour of the extension.
A month prior the SOC Investment Group had urged shareholders to vote against re-electing the board and Kotick due to their failure in recognising and addressing the allegations of misconduct within the company.
The percentage for keeping the current board is a little surprising but likely influenced by a recent Activision Blizzard internal review that claimed to find "no evidence" of ignoring harassment claims from employees, a result that was met with a lot of scepticism.
With this extension taking the current board up to 2023, it will be interesting to see how things change once the acquisition of Activision Blizzard by Xbox is completed and whether or not any changes will actually be made.
