Today's Specials

So far, Los Rojiblancos have had four of their players receive special cards, with Luis Suarez's 89 OVR in-form card the top-rated.

Next up is Brazilian left-back Renan Lodi with an 85-rated Road to the Knockouts card that could get better in the coming weeks.

The final two cards both come from the Ones to Watch promo, with summer signings Antoine Griezmann and Rodrigo de Paul included in FUT 22's first event.

Jan Oblak (OVR 91)

Without a doubt, Atletico would not have won La Liga without Jan Oblak.

The Slovenian keeper had kept 18 clean sheets in 38 league games, conceding just 25 goals all season. Oblak had saved 2 last-minute penalties, leading to vital victories against Alaves and Elche in the run-in.

Luis Suarez (OVR 88)

A prolific season for the controversial player. With 21 goals in 32 league games, he finished Atletico's leading scorer.

Without him, they would not have won the title.

Marcos Llorente (OVR 86)

When Marcos Llorente scored his brace against Liverpool at Anfield back in 2020, we knew he was special.

Since then the Spaniard has grown under Simeone and has been one of the best attacking midfielders in the world. Llorente fired in 12 goals and provided 13 assists in La Liga last season, playing as a midfielder or false 9.

Koke (OVR 85)

A key player in Diego Simeone's side for many years now, Koke is a reliable midfielder with an eye for a pass.

The Spaniard has been one of Atletico Madrid's top players for several editions of the game now and has been rewarded with an 85 OVR in FUT 22.

Antoine Griezmann (OVR 85)

After a less than successful time spent at Barca, Griezmann is looking to find the form that got him that big move in the first place.

Welcomed back to Atletico on a loan deal, which can be extended and has a transfer clause, the club could end up making millions off of a player they never really lost!

Jose Gimenez (OVR 84)

When Diego Godin left Madrid for Inter Milan 2 summers ago, questions were raised on whether his teammate and fellow countryman would be able to fill his compatriot’s boots.

This season, Gimenez has established a name for himself as a world-class defender as Atleti lifted their first league title since 2014.

Yannick Carrasco (OVR 84)

It’s fair to say that Yannick Carrasco has had an incredible career turnaround. When the Belgian joined Chinese Super League side Dalian Professional in 2018, most pundits thought his career had lulled.

However, since resigning permanently with Los Rojiblancos at the start of last season, Carrasco has been a revelation. The winger has provided 10 assists in a landmark season, earning the fans' love.

Angel Correa (OVR 83)

This season has shown a real rise in quality and responsibility from the tenacious Angel Correa.

The Argentinian forward has had his best goal-scoring season since his arrival to the Spanish Capital. His link-up play on the right with Kieran Trippier has paid dividends as too has his relationship with striker Luis Suarez, scoring 9 and assisting 8 in La Liga.

Joao Felix (OVR 83)

When Joao Felix was signed for €113 million, many were asking whether he would live up to the hype.

However, at the start of last season, the Portuguese forward kickstarted Los Rojiblancos's push to the title. In the first 7 La Liga games, he scored 5 goals and set up 3 before injury.

Thomas Lemar (OVR 83)

Thomas Lemar has managed to sneak a rating increase of +1 OVR this game.

It wasn't the best season for him on an individual level, but he did help his team win the league.

Rodrigo De Paul (OVR 82)

Rodrigo de Paul had a decent season at club level, getting 9 goals before moving to Atletico.

His +2 OVR on his previous rating was probably influenced a lot by Argentina winning the Copa America, where he assisted the only goal of the final.
