2022 is set to be a huge year in gaming. With just over a year of the current console generation behind us, we're now prepping for the future of gaming. Here are some of the best AAA games coming out in 2022.
Pokemon Legends: Arceus - January 28th
Pokemon Legends: Arceus is a brave new direction for Pokemon. Set far in the past, it has open-world sections and plenty of old gadgets.
Out very early in the year, if you weren't too impressed with the latest Pokemon game, this may be more your type of thing.
Dying Light 2 - February 4th
We played Dying Light 2 just months ago and we were rather impressed with what we saw. Set in a huge world infested with zombies, you have to run, jump and fight your way to the next central objective.
Promising important moral decisions and an everchanging world, this is sure to be a big one.
Horizon Forbidden West - February 18th
Horizon Zero Dawn is one of the biggest PlayStation exclusives out there and Forbidden West only plans to capitalise on that huge success. If you want to know where Aloy goes next, this one is for you.
Set in a big open world filled with electronic dinosaurs, there's a lot to do.
Elden Ring - February 25th
There's a certain magic to Hidetaka Miyazaki games. Whether it be Dark Souls or Bloodborne, it has a charm that makes all that death worth it. With George R.R Martin on board, Elden Ring is lined up to be one of the best games in 2022.
After a short delay, it comes out in early 2022.
Starfield - November 11th
Despite being widely hyped, we don't know all that much about Bethesda's Starfield. It's the first new story for the team in over 25 years and it's set in space. Despite knowing so little, it's hard not to anticipate such a big Bethesda game.
Out in the latter half of the year, we may have to wait a little while to really understand what it is.
Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 - TBD
We still don't even technically know the name for this game yet. We know a sequel to 2017's Breath of the Wild is coming but there's still so much to find out. You can watch the trailer below.
Being half a decade since the last game, this is sure to be a huge one.
God of War: Ragnarok - TBD
God of War (2018) set an important precedent for the series, changing its perspective and slowing down its combat. Moving into more of a story-driven direction, this change paid off with great reviews and huge sales.
God of War Ragnarok is set to follow in its footsteps and we can't wait to see what shape it eventually takes. Although no release date is out there, Sony Santa Monica have confirmed a 2022 release date. We'll just have to wait for the official announcement to find out when.
