Madden 22 has been made official with several major details revealed about the game, but many are still wondering if it will land on Nintendo Switch.
New ratings have been released for the top positions and players in Madden 22. Considering we're nearing the release date, more information should drop this week.
With all these new details in mind, here's everything we know so far about Madden 22 on Nintendo Switch.
UPDATED - Ratings could be big for rookies
It might be surprising to you to hear that Trevor Lawrence doesn't lead the Madden 22 rookie ratings. However it's the truth, more importantly, it's a tight end that leads all rookie ratings in the new title.
Kyle Pitts, formally of the Florida Gators, now of the Atlanta Falcons leads the rookies with an 81 OVR. If you've been paying attention to Falcons camp, you'd know of the waves he's making at practice.
Kyle Pitts is also the fastest tight end in Madden 22. The question now is will the rookie live up to the hype during the NFL season this year?
Madden 22 Release Date
The official Madden 22 release date will be August 20, 2021, but players will be able to start as early as August 17 if they pre order the MVP or Dynasty Edition of the game.
There will also be an EA Play Trial once again this year, which will offer 10 hours of gameplay to subscribers before the title goes live worldwide.
However, those release dates unfortunately don't extend to Nintendo Switch...
Will Madden 22 be on Nintendo Switch?
It's a big question, as this would be the first time Madden made it onto Nintendo consoles since Madden 13, and that was long before the Nintendo Switch.
Unfortunately Madden 22 has not yet been confirmed for the Nintendo Switch.
However, there are signs from other games on Switch that Madden 22 could be the game to break that absentee streak for Madden on Nintendo consoles, even with a launch after the initial release of the title.
EA and Sports on Nintendo Switch
The Nintendo Switch has not been a console devoid of sports titles, and they've recently included the NBA 2K series and RBI Baseball 21.
However, other titles like MLB The Show 21 have yet to make the jump despite speculation fueled by both Sony San Diego and Nintendo.
EA Sports has made the leap to Switch with other franchises, most notably with FIFA 21, but other EA titles like Apex Legends and Knockout City have kept a Switch presence.
Madden 22 Switch Price, Legacy Edition?
Should the decision be made to bring Madden 22 to Nintendo Switch, it's not completely clear how much it'll cost players.
FIFA 21 landed with a Legacy Edition on Nintendo Switch at a slightly reduced price compared to other platforms, selling for just $49.99.
Madden 22 on Nintendo Switch would likely go for that price or the current gen standard of $59.99, but it's not clear if this would be a full game launching the same time as other platforms or another Legacy Edition.
