We're not far away from launch at this point and now we're learning more about NBA 2K23 The W, including the new features.

The latest Courtside Report revealed that there are several new additions this year to make the game mode much more fun for users.

Let's check out the latest changes to The W in NBA 2K23.

The fourth Courtside Report came out today and revealed the changes and new features of NBA 2K23 The W. One of the most notable is Community Goals.

The next gen specific game mode will feature The W Online community progression system, similar to Seasons in MyTEAM.

THE W ONLINE: Help your fellow NBA 2K23 players reach their goal

Here's the release from the Courtside Report in regard to the NBA 2K23 The W Community Goals:

"Every Season will feature six weekly goals the community can work together to reach. If the community is able to reach the collective goal in four out of the six weeks in that Season, every NBA 2K23 player will receive a reward"

The first set of rewards has actually been revealed and we'll go over those below. For now, let's go over when you can start playing.

NBA 2K23 Release Date

We're only a few weeks from the release date of NBA 2K23 which means you'll be able to start playing The W very soon.

The official release date for the game is September 9, 2022, unfortunately, there isn't any early access available for the game.

BALL OUT: NBA 2K23 will hit the market on September 9, 2022

Within the Community Goals area of NBA 2K23 The W, your reward will depend on your contribution. The good news is as long as you play, you'll receive something in return.

There's also a new WNBA Edition of NBA 2K23 that you can purchase and receive extra The W rewards. You can check that edition out right here.

We know that one area that everyone is interested in is what rewards will be available in NBA 2K23 The W.

The good news is the game mode has been flooded with rewards, giving players reasons to jump on the game mode and level up.

NEW JERSEYS: Check out the updated jerseys in The W this year

Items such as WNBA Jerseys, Logo, and Coach MyTEAM cards will be avialable and you can also wear these jerseys in The City. This feature delivers an additional reason to play NBA 2K23 The W.

Now, lets take a look at another new feature, Game Changers and Challenges.

Although there are community rewards to achieve, there are some individual reasons to complete those challenges in NBA 2K23 The W.

Special community members who invest an immense amount of time and effort to achieve the community goal will earn Game Changer status.

GAME CHANGERS: Earn extra rewards as you work through challenges

The Game Changers in NBA 2K23 The W will give you the ability to imbue other players in The W Online with Player Boosts to help push the community to reach goals.

In subsequent weeks, Game Changers will also be able to unlock new and exclusive rewards to The W Online, including Team Takeover Boosts.

Here are the Team Takeover Boosts and their perks below:

  • Helping Hand - Gift a percentage of your takeover actions to a teammate who needs help filling their bucket
  • Accelerator - Fill the takeover meter faster
  • Extender - This useful boost extends the duration a takeover is active
  • Resilience - Minimizes the effect of a negative action that would otherwise cause the meter to decrease

We'll continue to cover the new challenges and Game Changers that are added once NBA 2K23 The W begins.
