MLB The Show 21 loves to keep things fresh in Diamond Dynasty, and one big way that happens is through the bi-weekly roster update with potential new Diamonds.
The next roster update is just days away, so we're looking at the top Live Series players in Diamond Dynasty that could jump from Gold to Diamond this time in MLB The Show 21.
MLB The Show 21 Roster Update
MLB The Show 21 is now coming up on their fifth roster update since the title launched in April, and that means the Live Series cards in Diamond Dynasty will once again be in flux.
The next roster update is scheduled for Friday, June 25, 2021 and should take effect at approximately Noon PT (2pm CT/3pm ET).
As always, the attribute adjustments made in the Roster Update are specific to Diamond Dynasty with only Live Series cards being affected.
New Diamonds Predictions
Throughout the past roster updates, we've seen between two and six different players make the jump from Gold to Diamond tier.
These remain the most important changes in each roster update, as you'll have the opportunity to invest in these prior to them going Diamond.
If you pick up multiple copies of the card for under 5000 Stubs, you'll be able to quicksell them for 5000 Stubs each when they go Diamond, which is an instant and potentially lucrative profit.
Zack Wheeler, Currently 84 OVR, Philadelphia Phillies
After dominating at the end of May, Zack Wheeler got chosen as one of the Monthly Awards Program cards for that month.
He's continued to deliver consistently in the weeks since then, and many feel Wheeler may be the closest to an absolute lock to make the leap to Diamond this week.
Carlos Correa, Currently 84 OVR, Houston Astros
The first of two players from the Houston Astros on our list, Carlos Correa was already having a strong year when he decided to open the floodgates in late May.
After making a small change to his batting stance, Correa has been on fire at the plate, and he's also very likely to make the jump to at least 85 OVR in this roster update.
Shohei Ohtani, Currently 83 OVR, Los Angeles Angels
Few players in the MLB are as exciting to watch as Shohei Ohtani, and he's a rare case where that's true whether he's on the mound or at the plate.
The biggest thing working against his jump to Diamond is that hitting attributes don't affect the OVR rating for starting pitchers in MLB The Show 21, but allowing less walks as of late may be enough to get him over the hump.
Jose Altuve, Currently 83 OVR, Houston Astros
Finally, we have the second Houston Astros player and our fourth pick to potentially go Diamond in the next roster update for MLB The Show 21.
Jose Altuve has continued to prove himself as this season has progressed, and a recent string of strong batting performances has him right in line for the jump to Diamond in MLB The Show 21.
Before the roster update lands, also make sure to check out the new Moments for a limited time 99 OVR Prospect Wander Franco, which we have all the details on here.
