With the end of 2019 nearing, FIFA gamers are beginning to think about who will be included in the 2020 Future Stars Ultimate Team promotion.
It's become quite the topic of discussion on the FIFA sub-Reddit, but rather than player predictions, one post that has gained a lot of traction poses an exciting concept that would transform FUT.
What are Future Stars?
On FIFA 19, Future Star cards were flash forward versions of talented prospects, revealing just how good the best youngsters could become if they were to fulfil their potentials.
BACK TO THE FUTURE STARS: FIFA 19 saw Phil Foden, Matthijs de Ligt and Vincius Jr. included in the special edition cards
If this feature is the same as last year, we can expect an initial squad of 21 Flash Forward cards available in packs for a limited time, before six additional players are released through SBCs. In FIFA 19, EA also released one more Future Star who was voted for by the gamers themselves.

A New Concept
One Reddit user has posted on the FIFA sub-Reddit, outlining their innovative concept for FIFA 20's Future Stars.
The basic premise of the idea is that your Future Star players receive Overall rating upgrades once they've achieved certain milestones for your club.

These objectives would vary depending on the player - the original poster included some examples:
"Lets say you buy Hudson Odoi's FS card and it's 83 rated. He will have a list of objectives as follows...
Score 50 goals = +1 upgradeScore 100 goals = +3 upgradeScore 150 + 50 assists = +5 upgradeScore 250 goals + 100 assists = +7 upgradeScore 300 goals + 150 assists = +9 upgrade (capped at 92)"
Evidently, dynamic potentials on FUT (even for one card type) would encourage gamers to use players consistently rather than recycling teams on the market.
MARVELOUS MATTEO: After missing out on a Scream card, could Guendouzi receive a Future Star card for a second year running?
The concept was very popular amongst the Reddit FIFA community, however one respondent pointed out that you may not be able "to have these cards on the market. They'd have to be SBC or Objective players".
The original poster offered a solution stating that "you can have the base cards on the market, if you were to sell your one that you've upgraded then he would go back to his original stats".

This concept is certainly an exciting idea, but we'll have to wait to see if EA pick up on it.
If you're been on this concept, don't feel too disheartened as EA have been incredibly responsive to the FIFA community this year, as they have updated three separate in-game faces that gamers had previously complained about.
