NBA 2K23 Update 1.05 Patch Notes hit Current Gen on October 12

NBA 2K23 Update 1.05 Patch Notes should be arriving soon as another Current Gen download has deployed.

Here's everything we know so far about NBA 2K23 Update 1.05 and when the official Patch Notes could arrive to clarify what's been fixed.

NBA 2K23 Update 1.05 Patch Notes (October 12)

Just one week after the last Current Gen set of fixes went out, NBA 2K23 Update 1.05 has begun to arrive on consoles.

We've yet to be able to verify version number and download size on PS4, but last week's NBA 2K23 Update 1.04 would suggest this latest PS4 arrival is Version 1.05.

We can confirm that the download size on Xbox One is absolutely massive at a total of 41.41 GB, but some have reported this could be connected to an Xbox bug that triggers you to re-download large chunks of a game when an update arrives.

CLEANED UP: More fixes will hopefully mean less bugs for players to face

This new NBA 2K23 Update is Version 1.0.0.6 on Xbox One, but it's important to note these numbers don't often line up as different platforms use different numbering systems.

For example, the next gen version of NBA 2K23 on PS5 is already up to Version 1.007 as of a few weeks ago while the Xbox Series X|S version is on Version 2.0.0.11 via that same update.

As a result, at this point it's hard to say just how much may have been fixed, as 2K has yet to release the official NBA 2K23 Update 1.05 Patch Notes.

Will 2K actually release any official Patch Notes?

Unfortunately, this year the story has quickly shifted from "wow the patch notes are taking a while" to "do they even do patch notes anymore?"

While occasional hotfixes didn't get full detailed patch notes, the majority of significant NBA 2K22 Updates received a basic Courtside Report outlining fixes.

This served to quell player worries about known issues that were now resolved, but it also helped as a reminder so players would know to continue reporting if something hadn't been addressed.

Despite multiple updates this year already across both Next Gen and Current Gen, 2K has released zero official patch notes and only acknowledged vague stability fixes via Twitter without giving further details.

With the arrival of NBA 2K23 Season 2 just one week from this Friday, it's possible that final preparations are being made in the games to ensure a smooth rollout in MyTEAM and MyCAREER.

This also means we may have the best chance to get official patch notes from 2K via a Courtside Report outlining what's been changed, but only time will tell if they decide to offer any clarity for this update.
