NBA 2K23 ratings will likely change throughout the year but we've already received our first update of the year.

LATEST - LaMelo gets an upgrade
After the first launch of the NBA 2K23 ratings, LaMelo Ball entered with an 86 OVR rating, which was different than a reported leak.
However, LaMelo Ball has received the first upgrade of the year getting bumped to an 87 OVR.
This is likely only one of many updates that are coming to the NBA 2K23 ratings in the future. We might even see a new player at the top of the ratings.

Top NBA 2K23 ratings revealed
As more NBA 2K23 ratings are announced, we're starting to see where the top players have ended up and the highest overall rated player.
At first, we believed LeBron James would end up the highest, coming in at 96 OVR. However, he's been ousted by Giannis Antetokounmpo, who is 97 OVR.
Several players were tied at the No.2 spot including Steph Curry and Kevin Durant, both of whom had their NBA 2K23 ratings set at 96 OVR.

Highest Rated Rookies in NBA 2K23
Shortly after the best players in the game were revealed, the highest-rated rookies in NBA 2K23 were announced.
Coming in at the top was Paolo Banchero and Jabari Smith Jr. with a 78 OVR to their NBA 2K23 ratings.
There are several more ratings to come but an interesting NBA 2K23 rating is Chet Holmgren's 77 OVR rating. Holmgren has been ruled out for the season, so it's good he's still getting recognized.

Best Dunkers in NBA 2K23
There's a new set of NBA 2K23 ratings that showcase the best dunkers in the game and it should be no surprise that Ja Morant leads the group.
He's tied with Zion Williamson at 97 OVR and with the new dunking mechanics, the dunk rating is one of the most important things.
Anthony Edwards (MIN) and Zach LaVine (CHI) both made the list as well, making it into the top five of the dunkers in the NBA 2K23 ratings.

Best 3PT Shooters in the game
The three-point shooting ratings in NBA 2K23 are rather interesting this year as Stephen Curry comes in with a 99 OVR rating.
Coming behind him is Klay Thompson who is far behind Curry at 88 OVR. This is a pretty shocking revelation as no one even gets near Curry.
Once we get the chance to play the game, we'll see how these NBA 2K23 ratings hold up and whether Curry is automatic from the three-point line.

Kevin Durant comments on NBA 2K23 rating
During the NBA 2K23 ratings reveal, we're learning that certain players are looking to get their overall rating adjusted.
One of these players is Kevin Durant, who is wondering why he didn't come in as a 99 OVR this year, calling it "laughable".
Now, Durant may mean this in jest but we could see a few updated NBA 2K23 ratings in the future after players reach out to Ronnie2K.
