NBA 2K22 dropped another patch update today exclusively for next gen users. This patch came with a ton of new additions, but one that stood out was the new face scans.
Certain players received all new NBA 2K22 face scans while others received general likeness updates.
Let's get you up to speed on the players with brand new scans and likeness updates in NBA 2K22.
New NBA 2K22 Rookie Face Scans are in
In an effort to bring more realism to the game, NBA 2K22 decided to give these players new face scans, as their original scans didn't quite look like them.
These players likely needed a new face scan because their previous one was from NBA 2K21. We saw this especially in two rookies, Jalen Suggs and Evan Mobley, but they weren't the only two affected by the original face scans.
Along with Jalen Suggs and Evan Mobley, here are all the other players that received new face scans in NBA 2K22:
- Jalen Suggs
- Evan Mobley
- Josh Giddey
- Jonathan Kuminga
- Franz Wagner
- Davion Mitchell
- James Bouknight
- Moses Moody
- Cameron Thomas
- Sabrina Ionescu
- Lexie Brown
- Emma Cannon
- Kahleah Copper
- Arella Guirantes
- Ruthy Hebard
- Teaira McCowan
- Astou Ndour
- Aaliyah Wilson
The players that received new scans are primarily rookies and WNBA players. However, there were some big names that received an NBA 2K22 likeness update in the latest patch as well.
NBA 2K22 superstars are getting new likeness improvements
The players that made the cut for likeness updates didn't need a completely new face scan, just tweaks to their current look.
These are the fine-tuning details that NBA 2K22 likes to focus on to make sure the game is as real as possible and that players really look like themselves. Much like they did with an earlier patch.
A lot of NBA stars fill out this list, most notable being LeBron James, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Steph Curry. There are more WNBA stars making their way onto this list including legend Sheryl Swoopes.
Here's the entire list of players that received general likeness updates in NBA 2K22:
- LeBron James
- Giannis Antetokounmpo
- Paul George
- Evan Fournier
- John Collins
- Stephen Curry
- Larry Drew
- Joe Harris
- Richaun Holmes
- Rodney Hood
- Lauren Jackson
- Steve Kerr
- Pete Maravich
- Kenyon Martin
- Jabari Parker
- Noelle Quinn
- Bryant Reeves
- Sheryl Swoopes
- Anderson Varejao
- Derrick White
- Cody Zeller
These players needed likeness updates because now that NBA 2K22 has been out for almost a month, the development team can go in and really start nitpicking. As a reminder, these updates are only for next gen users.
This is great news for us as players because that means we'll constantly be receiving new updates!
