We've received another update to NBA 2K22 and this one will change the course of the game especially for MyCAREER players.
Update 1.08 hit all platforms today and some of the changes brought to it are welcoming, others, not so much, especially the NBA 2K22 dribbling mechanics changes.
Let's talk about what these overall changes mean for players in MyTEAM and MyCAREER.
NBA 2K22 Dribbling Mechanics Changed
For those of you that haven't had the chance to check out the latest NBA 2K22 update, there are some changes you should know about.
Of course, the main change was all of the new features getting prepared for Season 3, but there were some gameplay changes too, mainly centered around NBA 2K22 dribbling.
So, here are the altered dribbling mechanics in NBA 2K22:
- Slowed down lateral dribble launches and added a shooting penalty that applies for players who zig-zag from side to side excessively before shooting
- Fixed an issue that was causing ball handlers to hitch and slow down when running in transition
Now these might seem like small changes, but we can promise you they'll have a huge impact in NBA 2K22.
How will it change the game going forward?
At face value, players might not understand the implications of the NBA 2K22 update, but we're here to make it slightly more understandable.
For starters, the first change will limit how quickly you can move from side to side while dribbling, some might know this as the "dribble spam" move. Players in NBA 2K22 use this to confuse defenders and force the stumble animation on their opponent.
The second change to the dribbling mechanics in NBA 2K22 will actually penalize players who run from side to side and take shots (most Playmaking Shot Creator Builds). This penalty will come in the form of a shooting penalty, something all of us will appreciate.
Aside from that, the final change is a fix to a bug that slowed ball handlers down in transition. This is a welcome fix to see in NBA 2K22 as it was unfortunate to get bogged down.
