Story & Realmuto poised to go Diamond in Roster Update

MLB The Show 21 has consistently delivered new roster updates since launch, and the latest roster update will return to their bi-weekly schedule.

With so many potential moves on the horizon, we take a closer look here at four players poised to go Diamond in the next MLB The Show 21 Roster Update.

MLB The Show 21 Roster Update

After a strict bi-weekly schedule for several months after launch, Sony San Diego threw a wrench into the mix by delaying the last one, likely because of the All-Star game and lining it up with the launch of the 5th Inning Program.

However, they're back on track now with the next bi-weekly roster update expected this Friday, and we could see several players on the rise.

As of now, the next roster update is scheduled for Friday, August 13, 2021 and should go live at approximately Noon PT (2pm CT/3pm ET).

For clarity, these attribute adjustments are specific to Diamond Dynasty and will only alter Live Series cards.

New Diamonds Predictions

Following the All-Star Game and Home Run Derby, the last roster update saw significant movement with five different players going Diamond.

As usual, we've pinpointed four players who seem most in position to make the jump to Diamond with the next roster update.

If you're hoping to invest, you can purchase multiple copies of any Gold player for under 5000 Stubs and be able to instantly quicksell for 5000 Stubs if they go Diamond.

George Springer, Currently 83 OVR, Toronto Blue Jays

We actually picked George Springer for the last roster update, but apparently Sony San Diego didn't feel it was time yet for the Blue Jays outfielder to go Diamond.

With a .345 batting average and .759 slugging over his last 15 games, which includes 5 home runs and 17 RBIs, we should finally see Springer on the rise in this roster update.

J.T. Realmuto, Currently 83 OVR, Philadelphia Phillies

We also have a dark horse who has continued to prove himself in the long term and might finally get that push to Diamond in this roster update.

THE REAL DIAMOND: It might finally be upgrade time for Realmuto

Realmuto has had a solid .259 batting average and .519 slugging over his last 7 games, with 6 RBIs and 2 home runs, and that coupled with his long-term performance could be enough to get him over the edge this time.

Joe Musgrove, Currently 84 OVR, San Diego Padres

With just one point needed to make the leap, it wouldn't be a shocker to see Joe Musgrove push himself to Diamond status in the next update.

He's had a strong 2.77 ERA over the last 15 games, including 88 strikeouts across just over 84 innings played, and just a few slight stat boosts would push Musgrove into Diamond tier.

Trevor Story, Currently 84 OVR, Colorado Rockies

After plenty of speculation about a potential move before the trade deadline, Trevor Story remains in Colorado and has more than proved his worth since that deadline passed.

Across his last seven games, Story has a whopping .417 batting average with .750 slugging, with just three strikeouts and three walks across 24 at bats.
