How to Redeem Preorder Bonus Items
If you bought the game digitally via the eShop, you should find the items in your game automatically once you've downloaded the game to your system and headed to your camp.
When the preorder download is initiated, your Switch should notice that you're entitled to the preorder bonus items and install them alongside your game.
If you bought the game physically, you should be sent a code to redeem on the eShop.

It won't be a code included in the box, but rather a code that's either emailed to you by release date or included on your purchase receipt from the retailer.
Once you've got it, head to the eShop on your Switch, and head to 'Redeem Code' at the bottom of the list on the left of the screen, and type it in.
You should then be prompted to download the content to your system, making it live in game.
Once in game, you'll need to play through the intro section until you meet Senri the Courier, who's in charge of the online content in the game.
While talking to him, choose the Add-on Content option once it pops up, then choose Check for Add-Ons.
You should then be granted all of the content that was included as part of your pre-order.
