Deathloop lets you choose how to play - stealthily or all-out action - but the combat can get a little tricky if you get overwhelmed. If you do start to struggle, you might want to change difficulty settings to make everything a bit more bearable.
With Deathloop now available on Xbox Series X/S and The Golden Loop DLC also out, it may be worth revisiting some of the basics including how to change the difficulty!

How to Change Difficulty Settings in Deathloop
Unfortunately, there is no way to change the difficult settings exactly. Arkane's game is designed to be played with one difficulty setting only, as it's part of the puzzle to try and make sure you're not dying too many times.
There is no easy, normal, or hard difficulty, just the one that you're given.
However, there is one thing you can do to make at least an aspect of Deathloop a bit easier.
Julianna Invasion Settings
I'm sure you've noticed by now that Julianna Blake can invade your loop to try and kill you, with her being controlled by another player from around the world.
She's tough to locate and take out, so it can be annoying when she finds you just as you're getting close to the end of a mission.
To make life a little easier, you can change a setting that ensures Julianna is AI controlled and not player controlled, making her a little dumber and easy to defeat.
To do so, wait until you're between loops or time of day and hover the selector over your account icon in the top left of the screen.
You'll then just be able to press X/click to cycle through the online options, choosing between 'Switch to Online, Switch to Friends Only, and Switch to Single Player' - with the latter being the easiest option for you.
While the majority of the combat in Deathloop will remain the same in terms of difficulty, at least you don't have to deal with other players getting in your way too.
