Will Madden 23 be on Xbox One?

With the now confirmed road to Madden 23 underway, the enduring series is ready to carve another chapter out.

John Madden takes center stage for the first time in years, but some players are concerned Madden 23 won't make it to Xbox One.

Will Madden 23 be on Xbox One?

It's been only two years since Madden 21 made the step of jumping to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S for the first time in this series, but it's a move that immediately triggered worries about whether Madden 23 could finally give up on the past generation of platforms.

Thankfully, there's good news on that front as we can confirm Madden 23 will be released on Xbox One as well as PS4, PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PS5.

Madden 22 also handled the generation gap by releasing on those same consoles, but they've been managing the evolution of gaming for decades.

Madden 2002 was the first to hit the original Xbox with Madden 06 marking the debut on Xbox 360, but Madden 09 was the last to drop on the original Xbox.

Madden 25 (aka Madden 14) burst onto Xbox One for the first time, but Madden 17 was the last version to drop on Xbox 360.

We're now in the final stretch for Xbox One, but Madden 23 will not be the game to officially end things.

FieldSENSE and other features will not make it to Xbox One

Unfortunately, the relief that Madden 23 will indeed hit Xbox One has to be accompanied by some less exciting news.

FieldSENSE, an all-new gameplay system with significantly upgraded physics, will only be in the Xbox Series X|S and PS5 versions of Madden 23.

This isn't the first time we've seen new features leave past generation consoles in the dust, as Madden 22 introduced Dynamic Gameday but left it out of Xbox One, PS4, and PC versions of the title.

NEXT GEN EXCLUSIVE: FieldSENSE will not be on Xbox One, PS4, or PC

This is likely to be frustrating news for some players, but it's something that has to be kept in mind as EA Sports turns most of their Madden 23 hype and even trailer focus towards these new features.

While Madden 23 will hit Xbox One, PS4, and PC, those three platforms are actually being given a significantly restricted build that'll be missing the most crucial gameplay improvements.
