The latest title update to hit Black Ops Cold War is going to introduce quite a lot of Zombies content. There's going to be Tanks in Outbreak, a new objective to complete, and a new Field Upgrade to make the most out of. One of the more interesting additions to Black Ops Cold War's Outbreak in Season 5, however, is the Grapple Gun.
You read that right. They're adding a Grapple Gun to Black Ops Cold War's Outbreak. We don't know if this will eventually make its way to other modes, but here's what we do know so far.
Everything we know about the Outbreak Grapple Gun
The Grapple Gun in Outbreak looks like it's going to do exactly what you think it will. You aim it, fire, and get pulled across the map to your chosen destination. It's going to have a range, of course, and it won't eliminate fall damage so you'll need to be cautious while using it.
However, it looks like a lot of fun.
" Getting around the Outbreak Zone becomes trivial with this handy device, allowing Operators to spend less time on foot and more time shooting zombies in the face."
As a craftable item, we're under the impression that the Grapple Gun is going to take up the Tactical Equipment slot in Outbreak. We don't know how much Rare Salvage it will cost yet but we're inclined to suggest that it will cost around 100 Rare Salvage. This is a middling amount and we can see it being a little bit more if Treyarch is feeling harsh.
When does Season 5 start, though?
UPDATE: Season 5 is out now and the Grapple Gun should be available in Outbreak going forwards.
Black Ops Cold War's Season 5 update, that's due to add the Grapple Gun to Outbreak, will be available on August 12th at the following times:
- 21:00 August 11th - PST
- 00:00 August 12th - EST
- 05:00 August 12th - BST
New weapons, Operators, multiplayer maps, and game modes dominate the discourse surrounding Black Ops Cold War Season 5. However, we shouldn't forget the continued slow-drip of Zombies content too. All of this is working towards one of the most complete Call of Duty Zombies experiences ever.
