Black Ops Cold War's Season 5 update is getting a booster shot with the Season 5 Reloaded update next week. There's going to be another new multiplayer map joining the game and Demolition is finally being added! Here's everything you need to know...
UPDATED - New Season 5 Multiplayer Maps
Zoo (6v6) - Season 5 Reloaded Launch
This first appeared in Black Ops' Escalation DLC pack, so you might know the layout if you're a series veteran.
" First seen in the original Black Ops’ Escalation DLC pack in 2011, Zoo is a medium-sized map specifically designed for 6v6 game modes in Black Ops Cold War, trimming the playable space down to its main animal exhibit and park area for Multiplayer.
Be sure to take a “ride” on the monorail to get an incredible vantage point on the action below, or head to the souvenir shop to dole out plenty of free pain to your enemies."
Echelon (6v6) - Launch
This is a brand new map for Season 5 and one you might recognise from the Season 5 Cinematic Trailer.
" Set at Teufelsberg – also known as “Devil’s Mountain” – in Berlin, Echelon sees Operators fighting through the rain and ash in the aftermath of Perseus’ latest operation. From either infiltration point, you’ll fight to control the central control room inside the main dome, a natural hotbed for combat that gets even hotter in objective game modes."
Slums (6v6) - Launch
This is a three-lane classic that you would have seen orifinally in Treyarch's Black Ops II.
"First introduced in Call of Duty: Black Ops II, Slums is set deep within Panama City, where a town square featuring a central fountain invites long-range combat across lanes and plenty of aerial Scorestreak bombardments."
Showroom (2v2 & 3v3) - Launch
Stacks was first featured in 2019's Modern Warfare, but this smaller variant of Stacks' emporium inside The Pines mall will feel fresh for Black Ops Cold War.
" All sales are final in this small-scale map built for Gunfight and Face-Off variants. Showroom is set in the cordoned off Stacks emporium within the long-abandoned mall in New Jersey, The Pines. On this map, expect to have fast fights over and around various displays and kiosks, which provide a unique aesthetic and map structure compared to the other smaller maps in Black Ops Cold War."
Drive-In (6v6) - In-Season
This classic Black Ops map will be making its return to Call of Duty shortly after the Season 5 launch window.
" Remastered for the first time in honour of its 10-year anniversary as part of the Black Ops Annihilation Map Pack, Drive-In features close-quarters fights and powerful overwatch points, particularly around the big screen of the Galactic Drive-In, where snipers and other long-range weapons can shine."
Zoo (6v6) - In-Season
First featured in Black Ops Cold War's Outbreak, a smaller variation on this map will be coming to the latest Call of Duty soon.
" There’s no cage that can hold you as you fight through bear pits and aquariums in Zoo, whose original version was part of Black Ops’ second DLC pack Escalation. Be sure to take a “ride” on the monorail to get an incredible vantage point on the action below, or head to the souvenir shop to dole out plenty of free pain to your enemies."
When do the new maps come out?
Black Ops Cold War Season 5 launched on August 12th at the following times:
- 21:00 August 11th - PST
- 00:00 August 12th - EST
- 05:00 August 12th - BST
This means... Echelon, Slums, and Showroom will all be available on Black Ops Cold War's multiplayer and Onslaught (the PlayStation-exclusive Zombies mode) from then.
Following this, we expect Drive-In to be available within two weeks of launch and Zoo to be added during the mid-season update in October.
