The latest Black Ops Cold War update is adding quite a lot of Zombies content to Treyarch's shooter, especially when you consider that the latest round-based Zombies map was only released a handful of weeks ago. As always, the latest season is introducing a new Outbreak map and Season 5 isn't any different.
Collateral, a patch of land in the Algerian Desert, is our next destination and here's everything you need to know.
Collateral is coming...
The Dark Aether is continuing to spread and it feels like Requiem is only making things worse with each interference. Now, Outbreak Zones are cropping up far beyond "Eurasia" - Europe and Asia - and there's a new Outbreak Zone in the Algerian Desert.
" This huge new region (codenamed “Collateral”) has become an incredibly unstable area, making it a prime spot to harvest Aetherium Crystals and further investigate the Dark Aether."
It looks like parts of this map will reflect the crashed satellites that appeared in Season 4's multiplayer maps, as there's going to be " massive natural rock structures, de-orbited satellite, and oil drills" throughout the locale.
We expect this Season 5 Outbreak map to be adapted and added to Black Ops Cold War's multi-team playlists as a large-scale multiplayer map in the mid-season update.
When does Season 5 actually start?
UPDATE: Season 5 has started and Collateral has been added to the Outbreak map rotation going forwards.
Black Ops Cold War's Season 5 content is due to be added to the title on August 12th at the following times:
- 21:00 August 11th - PST
- 00:00 August 12th - EST
- 05:00 August 12th - BST
The Season 5 Outbreak map is being joined by Tanks, a Grapple Gun, a new Field Upgrade and a new Perk to make this another substantial Call of Duty Zombies content drop. There's also new weapons and Operators, as you'd expect, to round out a decent-enough seasonal update for Black Ops Cold War.
