The final Call of Duty season for Black Ops Cold War ahead of Vanguard is coming, and we aren't far out now!
With some newly revealed patch notes, we know that Mason is dropping as an Operator, and a new round-based Zombies map is coming to shake things up as well.
Here's everything you need to know about Call of Duty Season 6, including its release date, patch notes, and everything in-between.
UPDATE - Redlight, Greenlight... Aether-night?
We're still waiting on a Content Roadmap for Black Ops Cold War Season 6, but Treyarch has confirmed that the Soviet compound from "Redlight, Greenlight" is going to be the main location of Black Ops Cold War's next round-based Zombies map.
You can see the Soviet compound in the GIF below, as well as an ominous-looking "Aether Storm" of some kind.
In addition to this, it looks like PhD Flopper is the next Zombies Perk to be added to Black Ops Cold War - you can check out the teaser for that below, too.
Adler's back & Forsaken is coming...
Treyarch has recently dropped two major bits of information regarding Black Ops Cold War Season 6 - and we're here to talk about them!
Firstly, the Season 6 Intro Cinematic is here. Adler's rogue antics in Season 5 have left Verdansk teetering on the edge of total annihilation and Mason is joining the fight against Stitch in an epic conclusion to Black Ops Cold War's post-launch narrative.
In addition to this, Treyarch has confirmed that the next - and final - round-based Zombies map for Black Ops Cold War is going to be titled Forsaken. We don't know too much about this just yet, but there's going to be a gameplay trailer and some more Zombies-related information dropping soon!
START DATE - When does Season 6 start?
At the moment, we don't know for sure when Black Ops Cold War Season 6 is due to start. We can make an educated guess though, looking at when Season 5 is due to end and how Treyarch has been handling seasonal changes throughout Black Ops Cold War's lifetime.
Season 5 is due to end on October 6th - this means we should see Season 6 start on October 7th. Exact times are always hard to predict, but Black Ops Cold War's most recent update went live at the following times:
- 21:00 PST - Release Day
- 23:00 EST - Release Day
- 04:00 BST - Day After Release Day
We don't think Treyarch are going to start changing their update schedules now, so we expect Black Ops Cold War Season 6 will start at the following times on October 6th and October 7th - take this with a pinch of salt though, just in case, until it's confirmed.
NEW ZOMBIES MAP - The Dark Aether Storyline continues...
Treyarch has taken a punt on Outbreak with Black Ops Cold War and left a lot of "die-hard" Zombies fans frustrated with the lack of round-based maps in the latest Call of Duty game. Thankfully, Black Ops Cold War is getting at least one more round-based Zombies map before Vanguard comes out and it's due with Season 6.
Treyarch has said the following on the matter:
" Zombies players will get access to the new Rampage Inducer in round-based maps to immediately turn up the action to epic levels, and in Outbreak, we’re delivering the new Armada Region and Black Chest World Event, as well as new narrative Intel to set the stage for the finale of Black Ops Cold War Zombies in next season’s round-based map."
It isn't much, but it's something. We should learn more in the weeks leading up to the release of Season 6. However, it's worth noting that we don't know whether the new Zombies map will be launching with Season 6 or released "in-season" like Mauer Der Toten was.
In addition to this, it's also worth noting that all of the post-launch Zombies content has been free for Black Ops Cold War. So... Can anyone really complain if they have to wait a little bit longer for it?
WHAT ELSE - We expect more to be revealed...
Another round-based Zombies map might be the main talking point of Season 6's content at the moment, but we're still expecting a few more interesting bits of content to be added to Black Ops Cold War in the next seasonal update. In relation to Zombies, we're still expecting another Perk to be added to Black Ops Cold War's selection alongside a new Field Upgrade.
Furthermore, we should see a handful of new weapons added to Black Ops Cold War - and Warzone - alongside a couple more Operators. That means there's still time for Alex Mason to show up! Although... At this stage of the game, we're really not sure. The Numbers Event surely has to be hinting at his appearance, though.
We're also expecting Treyarch to add another couple of Multiplayer maps to Black Ops Cold War - with one of them probably being a remake of an older Black Ops series map. We won't know anything for a couple of weeks yet, though - however, we should see some leaks starting to pop up soon.
