The Final Boss will be in WWE 2K25. As we get closer to the release of this year's entry, 2K is sharing more information about the game, including a first look at The Rock's newest entrance, inspired by last year's Final Boss persona.
Dwayne Johnson was a polarizing figure early in 2024. Initially, he looked poised to steal Cody Rhodes' thunder by removing him from the WrestleMania main event picture and adding himself into it, with a match versus Roman Reigns highly publicized.
Luckily, fan outcry made WWE and the TKO board reconsider their plans, pivoting to The Rock as a heel authoritarian figure set to derail Cody's underdog story as a match between two legendary Samoans was seemingly "best for business."
The pivot led us to The Final Boss. A more ruthless, less people's champ, more hellbent on ruining the Rhodes legacy type of Rock. Dwayne sold the character's smugness to great effect, even creating a unique belt, aptly referred to as the People's Champion belt.
Of course, part of what made this revitalized return of The Rock to WWE was his entrance. As the kids would say, it had too much aura, and 2K nailed it.
Ironically, some fans aren't particularly happy about the length of the entrance, aura aside. The reason? It might make Create-A-Wrestler matches take a bit too long, as the entrance is well over four minutes.
If you're looking forward to seeing The Final Boss in 2K25, you won't have to wait too long as WWE 2K25 is releasing this March 14 on PC (via Steam), Xbox Series, and PlayStation 5. There will be last-gen versions for Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Sadly, these along the PC edition will not include The Island mode.
If you pre-order either the Bloodline or Deadman editions of WWE WK25 you'll get seven days of early access, so you can start playing starting on March 7.
