Ratings week has begun for NBA 2K22 which means fans are beginning to speculate on where particular players should've ended up.
We couldn't help but dive into the ratings ourselves and found that there were a couple of players who won't receive much love in NBA 2K22 on the ratings side.
With the release date quickly approaching and more ratings being revealed, here are our top 5 most underrated players in NBA 2K22 so far.
Top 5 Most Underrated Players in NBA 2K22
2K could do with showing these players some more love in the NBA 2K22 ratings.
Zach Lavine, 87 OVR, Chicago Bulls
Lavine, easily the biggest name on the Chicago Bulls roster right now, was given an 87 rating this year in NBA 2K22. We understand that the Chicago Bulls aren't a great team, but that doesn't mean we can overlook Lavine's skill. He leads the team in points per game and assists per game, and averages more points than Zion Williamson, who has a higher rating than Lavine.
While we expect Lavine's rating to rise this year with more weapons on the Chicago Bulls (Lonzo Ball, DeMar DeRozan) - he should probably have started a bit higher in NBA 2K22.
Khris Middleton, 88 OVR, Milwaukee Bucks
You could argue that if it wasn't for Khris Middleton, the Milwaukee Bucks wouldn't have won the NBA Championship. It isn't a bad argument considering that Middleton was responsible for keeping the Bucks in games they were losing control of.
Despite this, Middleton received an 88 overall rating. With his contribution in the playoffs this year, he should've earned at least a 90 OVR.
Trae Young, 89 OVR, Atlanta Hawks
The Atlanta Hawks would still be an afterthought if it wasn't for Trae Young putting them back on the map. He averages nearly 10 assists per game and over 25 points per game. He was responsible for leading his team to the Conference Finals and doesn't have a superstar to share the work with.
With an incredible Playoffs campaign, Young should've at least broke a 90 overall rating this year, perhaps even close to Damian Lillard's 94 OVR in NBA 2K22.
Jayson Tatum, 90 OVR, Boston Celtics
This is an interesting one as Tatum (based on statistics) should rival players like Kawhi Leonard in terms of rating, and that's far from the case in NBA 2K22.
Leonard comes in as a 95 OVR in NBA 2K22, yet Tatum outperforms him in rebounds per game, blocks per game, and points per game. With this, Tatum should absolutely start at a higher rating in NBA 2K22, closer to 93 OVR.
James Harden, 94 OVR, Brooklyn Nets
This is a discussion we have to have, as James Harden is one of the most elite scorers in NBA history. However, when the NBA 2K22 ratings came out, there were names ahead of him that don't quite add up.
For starters, Harden has better individual stats than some of the players above him, including more assists, rebounds, steals, and blocks than Lebron James (who comes in at 96 OVR in NBA 2K22). All of this on a team with two ball-dominant players in Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant.
With this, Harden could easily have gotten a 95-96 OVR in NBA 2K22.
