Madden 22 trailer, cover athlete, and release date revealed
The wait is over, and fans can finally start to celebrate the return of the premiere sports gaming franchise with Madden 22.
EA Sports has finally confirmed tons of details about the upcoming release, and we got an early look at the title to know what's coming this year.
You can also see a first glimpse of the upcoming game below in the first official trailer for Madden 22.
Madden 22 is scheduled for a release date of August 20, 2021, but gamers who pre order the MVP Edition can score Early Access and play as soon as August 17, 2021.
Madden 22 Standard Edition will cost $69.99 on next gen platforms Xbox Series X|S and PS5, and will be available for the price of $59.99 on Xbox One, PS4, PC, and Stadia.
Madden 22 is also going outside the box with the cover this year, as both Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes were chosen as the first repeat cover athletes for only the second two athlete cover in the series.
Based on a final frame of the Madden 22 trailer, the game should have dual entitlement to allow upgrades from PS4 to PS5 or Xbox One to Xbox Series X|S or transfer in-game progress across versions, but we don't have full details on that process just yet.
According to the official trailer, Madden 22 is available to pre order now, and we should have more details soon on all of the pre order rewards that come with each edition.
