Guild Esports, the franchise co-owned by David Beckham, has announced a strategic partnership with FIFA fan-favourite club Finn Harps FC.
In a move not dissimilar to when Burger King began sponsoring Stevenage, we could see a swell of FIFA players using Finn Harps FC in FIFA 22.
Statistically one of the lowest-rated teams in the game, taking Finn Harps FC will certainly be a challenge in Career Mode, and using their players in Ultimate Team would be downright impossible…
Who are Finn Harps?
You mean to say you’ve never heard of Finn Harps FC? Well, let us tell you all about the side based in County Donegal.
Founded in 1954, Finn Harps FC is a community club that plies its trade in the top tier of Irish football.
The Harps have never won the League of Ireland Premier Division, but that is something you can change in FIFA 22!
If you do take the helm at the Harps, make sure you don’t lose against their Northwest Rivals Derry City, but more on that later.
Guild Esports Irish takeover
One of the key elements of the new partnership is to encourage Irish FIFA gaming talent to join the Guild Esports Academy.
Part of the official statement reads, “Harps will work with Guild Esports to increase Guild’s audience base in Ireland, and to encourage Irish EA SPORTS FIFA gaming talent to join Guild’s world-class academy, helping them become esports stars of tomorrow.”
Alongside the academy, Guild Esports will be branded on the Harps’ first and second replica kits and in FIFA 22.
There will also be a series of “fan-led activations featuring Harps players and club staff with Guild athletes.”
Cult following
This partnership is not out of the blue for Guild or the Harps, as Guild regularly feature the Harps in their EA Sports FIFA show ‘FFFFFFF’.HarpsHa\
The show has helped add to the following that the Harps have built over the years, achieving millions of views in Season One.
With that partnership set to continue, Finn Harps FC can expect their cult following to grow even more as they become more visible among the FIFA community.
Guild will also become more visible on matchdays at Finn Park, with advertising, features in matchday programs, and appearances on the club’s social media channels.
Challenge accepted
As mentioned above, using the Harps in FIFA 22 won’t be easy, with success proving even more of a challenge.

In Career Mode, not only do you need to make Finn Harps the best team in Ireland, but you must announce them in Europe too and guide them to glory amongst Europe’s elite.
No financial takeover allowed, but you can make the most of a homegrown future star if you have one!
Not a Career Mode fan? No worries. Can you assemble the Harps in Ultimate Team and make them competitive in Rivals (or Squad Battles)? Be warned, this could be nigh on impossible!
The Harps' two best players are rated 61 OVR, and you can assemble the squad in FUT 22 for less than 3k coins.
