WWE 2K22 MyGM is one of the most highly anticipated game mode this year, as longtime fans of GM Mode are eager to see how its return delivers.
In the second Ringside Report, developers at Visual Concepts took a deep dive looking at how GM Mode will work and some of the things players can look forward to in WWE 2K22 MyGM.
WWE 2K22 MyGM: GM Mode lets you choose a custom General Manager
WWE 2K22 is only a few weeks away from launch, and the latest Ringside Report turns the spotlight directly towards MyGM with significantly more info about the mode than we'd had before.
One of the exciting bits of news we first got to find out is that MyGM will let you choose from five different General Manager selections: Adam Pearce, Sonya Deville, Shane McMahon, Stephanie McMahon, and the brand-new custom superstar option.
They've actually adapted the creation suite to GM Mode this year, and in MyGM you'll be able to craft a custom GM from scratch or even download one to use from Community Creations.
For each GM, they have a specific Power Card and ability linked to them which will give an interesting boost and strategic angle to each possible selection.
For brands that you can select from, there's unfortunately not a custom option, but you can be the GM for Raw, SmackDown, NXT, or NXT UK.
We also know one of the other MyGM options available will be how long to make your MyGM run, as they've allowed players to choose lengths of 15 Weeks, 25 Weeks, or 50 Weeks if you want to plow through a full year.
MyGM Draft highlights Class and allows a custom draft pool
In some brief glimpses we saw of the MyGM Draft board, which would be your first big step in starting a new GM Mode, we saw some of the factors you'll have to consider in MyGM.
As you make your selections, Budget will be a key factor so you don't start off with no money to actually create matches or make other show adjustments.
On top of that, the devs explained that Class will be key, as certain Classes will mesh better in the ring with others, creating a synergy bonus and making those matches even better.
If you're worried about the draft selections you'll have to choose from, they've also confirmed that MyGM will allow a custom draft pool where you can include created superstars or those downloaded in Community Creations in the draft pool.
WWE 2K22 MyGM also has plenty of help on the Draft screen, with a Roster Breakdown noting how many Heels and Faces you've drafted as well as how many superstars you've chosen for a given Class.
We even got a glimpse of your Manage Roster option after the Draft, which includes the ability to sign Free Agents and Legends to your roster, so there's another benefit of not blowing the whole Budget in the Draft.
Power Cards, Commissioner Goals, Spectate Mode, and more
The reveals just kept on coming, and as mentioned above one of them as the new Power Cards mechanic which will give you unique boosts and bonuses.
Show Logistics will include upgrading different aspects for your events, like choosing a better Arena, Crew, Special Effects, or Advertisement to draw fans in to attend.
Commissioner Goals will happen as Triple H gives you advice and tips on how to best handle things as GM, and you can get bonuses by fulfilling the goals he's set.
The Ringside Report also went into the brand-new Spectate Mode which allows you to watch the AI compete in a match while you can adjust the camera settings to view it, but unfortunately this will be exclusive to MyGM and not available in other game modes.
You'll also have the option to simulate matches or play in them, and afterwards a full Match Report can be viewed that highlights what went right or pinpoints why it didn't deliver.
