World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King Classic is out, which means your journeys in Northrend have begun!
No matter the faction, Alliance, or Horde, you've made the difficult decision of choosing between Borean Tundra or Howling Fjord as the beginning of your leveling journey in the new frozen continent. You've begun questing, taking down mobs, encountering the Scourge, and perhaps finished a dungeon or two. But now, you want to get to the continent's major city hub, Dalaran, but don't know how to. Don't worry, we've you got covered.
Here's how to get to Dalaran in Wrath of the Lich King Classic
How to get to Dalaran in Wrath of the Lich King Classic
Getting to Dalaran in Wrath of the Lich King Classic can prove quite difficult—it's not just a straight shot. Unless you have a Mage with the ability to cast a portal to Dalaran, it can prove fairly difficult.
Dalaran is a floating city and due to that one can't just walk over to it. You can get there by questing, flying, and of course the aforementioned Mage portal.
Get to Dalaran by questing
If you've been going along with your adventures in Northrend, you've been completing your quests, and thus you've gained some levels. At level 74, you'll be able to grab a quest titled "The Magical Kingdom of Dalaran" regardless of your faction.
This quest can be picked up from several quest givers across several of the main quest hubs in Borean Tundra, Howling Fjord, Dragonblight, Grizzly Hills, and Zul'drak.
Here's a list of the NPCs and their locations:
Alliance
- Magister Dath'omere - Valiance Keep, Borean Tundra
- Baron Ulrik von Stromhearth - Valgarde, Howling Fjord
- Image of Archmage Modera - Star's Rest, Dragonblight
- Vas the Unstable - WIntergarde, Dragonblight
- Magistrix Haelenai - Amberpine Lodge, Grizzly Hills
Horde
- Magistrix Kaelana - Warsong Hold, Borean Tundra
- Magister Varenthas - Vengeance Landing, Howling Fjord
- Image of Archmage Aethas Sunreaver - Agmar's Hammer, Dragonblight
- Magister Tyr'ganal - Venomspite, Dragonblight
- Magistrix Phaelista - Conquest Hold, Grizzly Hills
Both Factions
- Magister Teronus III, The Argent Stand, Zul'drak
Upon grabbing the quest, make sure to talk to the designated NPC again and use the dialogue prompt to request a portal to Dalaran. From there, after opening up the portal, the NPC will give you a follow-up quest in Dalaran "Learning to Leave and Return: the Magical Way." This quest allows you to port back and forth between Crystalsong Forest and Dalaran.

Get to Dalaran by Flying
This one's fairly simple, if you have Cold Weather Flying either by reaching level 77 or via a Tome of Cold Weather Flight, you can just fly to Dalaran from wherever you are in Northrend.
Cold Weather Flying costs 1,000 and can be purchased from Hira Snowdawn in Kraus' Landing at Dalaran, Pilot Vic in River's Heart in Sholazar Basin, and Roxi Ramrocket in K3 at Storm Peaks.
The Tome of Cold Weather Flight can be purchased from Hira Snowdawn at the same price and can be used by characters level 68 and above.

Get to Dalaran with a Mage Portal
Last, but certainly not least, if you can't, or don't want to do the two options above, just get a Mage to cast a Dalaran portal for you.
Find a Mage who is at least level 74 and has the spell Portal: Dalaran learned and that's it! Make sure to tip them handsomely.
Connect your Flight Paths
Once you've made your way to Dalaran via any of the options, make sure to grab its flight path.
From there, anytime you have the option to grab a flight path in any of the zones you're leveling in do so as once you have connecting flights you can make your way back to Dalaran anytime.
