The Sims 4: Cottage Living has brought many exciting features to the overall Sims experience, one of which is the ability to build a pond!
Until now, to build a pond you've had to use super complicated methods, cheats or essentially build shallow swimming pools. No longer will you need to struggle with this as Cottage Living adds the ability to build and decorate ponds.
Here's how to build and decorate a pond in The Sims 4: Cottage Living.
How To Build A Pond In Cottage Living
Building a pond in Cottage Living is simple, provided you have a good grasp on the building tools available in The Sims 4.
Head into Build Mode and locate the landscaping tool. Make sure you have plenty of space for your pond before you start messing around with the landscape. Use the tool to create the size and depth you desire for your pond.
When you're happy with the size and shape of the pond, you can switch over to the new Water Tool, added as part of the Cottage Living expansion. Use this to fill your pond, which can be done to a specific height or just filled.
How To Decorate A Pond In Cottage Living
Once your pond is built and filled, you can move on to decorating it. Part of decorating it will first be selecting the type of pond water you want.
As you're probably aware, not all ponds are full of clean water, so if you want dirty water, algae/mossy water or even just leaves in your pond, you can select all of this before do any other decorations.
Once the water is taken care of, you can start looking through the Cottage Living pond decorations. The options to choose from include bog logs, signs, lilypads and even cattails grass.
None of the decorations is going to break the bank and they all add that personal and realistic touch to your pond.
