Rainbow Six Siege Year 6 Season 1 - Crimson Heist
Let's kick things off with a nice easy one.
Each season typically has it's own name and the rumours and Ubisoft have confirmed that Y6S1 will be called 'Crimson Heist'.
This title was originally leaked by one of the games foremost data miners, @Benjaminstrike.
Rainbow Six Siege Year 6 Season 1 - Release Date
Most of the details surrounding Crimson Heist were supposed to be revealed during the Siege Invitational in February.
However this was cancelled.
For those who don't know what the Siege Invitational is, here's a bit more info:
"As the 5th year of Siege comes to an end, once again, the Siege community turns its eyes to the Six Invitational. For its fifth edition, the World Championship of Rainbow Six: Siege will feature the 20 best teams from all over the world, clashing in a new competitive format with more matches and opportunities for players to prove their worth. Celebrate the best the Siege community has to offer as we crown a new champion and discover what year 6 has in store for us from February 19th to 21st."
You can read the Ubisoft statement in full, on the link.
The developer went ahead and revealed Crimson Heist, but there's still no firm release date for when it will arrive on console or PC.
For the time being, the Operation is only available on test servers, added as of February 22.
New Operator and Gadget
Argentinian attacker Flores uses a new gadget called the RCE-Ratero.
Here's a bit more info on how it works:
"Controlled from a distance, the RCE-Ratero Charge races forward while Flores scouts a location for its blast. Once triggered, the Ratero clutches onto the nearest surface, armors itself with a bulletproof shell, and explodes, destroying nearby gadgets and soft surfaces."
As for Flores, he's a two-speed, two-armour attacker, equipped with an AR33 assault rifle or SR25 marksman rifle.
To complete his loadout, Flores secondary weapon is the GSH18, and his secondary gadget choices are Stun Grenades or Claymores.
New Weapons
Certain attackers should have access to a new sidearm, the Gonne-6.
Whilst this is a single round weapon, it can destroy any bulletproof gadget. Handy.
Map Rework
With every season of Year 5, Rainbow Six underwent at least one map rework.
This trend will continue in Y6S1 with 'Border' the next map to get a revamp.
You can see the new version below.
As per Gfinityesports, it has made the following changes to the map:
- Bathroom has been extended and now has a new destructible wall
- Tellers is extended, too
- Customs and Stock have fewer destructible walls
- Archives has been extended into Office
- A new staircase now leads to the balcony on archives
- A new balcony takes players from Security to Break Room.
- The helicopter noise is now quieter, and the tannoy voice is now only heard in the planning phase
