Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are finally out worldwide and they have tonnes of legendary Pokemon to find between them. As well as Palkia and Dialga, there are a few you may not have seen yet. Here's how to get Mew and Jirachi in both games.
What you need to do beforehand
Before getting these legendary Pokemon, you have to make your way to Floaroma, in between Route 204 and Route 205. You will need to have played Pokemon Sword or Shield and Pokemon Let's Go Eevee or Let's Go Pikachu.
You will also need to get significantly far into the game to unlock these routes - so keep pushing if you aren't there yet!
Getting Mew in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl
To get Mew, you have to go into that town and speak to the elderly couple to the left of the Pokemon Center. The woman will give you a Mew but only if you have saved data from Let's Go on your Switch.
If this doesn't pop up, reset the game to hope it appears. If not, you may need to redownload the software and/or save data again. You can archive the software and then download it again from the Switch home.
Getting Jirachi in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl
Jirachi is received from the man in the flower field. You need save data from Sword or Shield for him to give you the legendary Pokemon. Like the previous example, there are some reasons this may appear. Just make sure to test it out and redownload your data again.
If you're looking to get Mew or Jirachi a different way, you may have to wait for them to pop up in mystery gifts. These seem to be the only way to get ahold of them right now on launch, but we'll update with other methods if they're discovered in the future.
