Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Eevee Spotlight - tera raids, dates & Nintendo Switch online

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will have Eevee at the centre of its first tera raid battles

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will have Eevee at the centre of its first tera raid battles

As our adventures through the upcoming Paldea region come closer, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet have shown us our first in-game event.

Since the introduction of generation eight and the Galar region, group raid battles have become a staple of the Pokemon franchise, giving trainers continuous content to keep the game alive.

Unlike Pokemon Go, which has standard group battles against a powerful version of a Pokemon, main series raids are based around that generation's battle gimmicks with Tera Battles being the most varied yet.

Let's take a look at the first event in Pokemon Sword and Shield

Tera Raid Battles - Eevee Spotlight

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet have Tera Raid dens

Found all across the Paldea Region, Tera Raid Dens are used to find and enter raid encounters where you and up to three other players fight a large boss creature who is terastallized, potentially with a different tera type to their usual typing.

While there will be countless random encounters throughout these raid dens, we now know that there will be specific Pokemon featured for certain events, the first being the series' secondary mascot of Eevee.

The Eevee spotlight will begin on Thursday, 24th November 2022 at 16:00 PST and will run until Sunday, 27th November 2022 at 15:59 PST.

During this time, Eevee's will be the featured pokemon at the Tera Raid Dens, with a variety of different Tera types available, potentially making for some fantastic combinations once you evolve to your selected eeveelution.

For those planning to build a competitive team in the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet games, getting a certain Eevee with a powerful Tera typing to add some variety and depth to your roster could make for an excellent twist to whatever battle you come across.

These raid battles can be quite challenging, however, and remove the usual turn-based approach of Pokemon. It instead has a battle method more reminiscent of Pokemon Go's real-time attack for raids.
