Cover athlete revealed for NHL 22
This week has resulted in huge reveals surrounding NHL 22 that has everyone excited for the release date on October 15, 2021.
Our first bit of news was the reveal of the cover athlete for NHL 22, Auston Matthews, the same Auston Matthews that graced the cover of NHL 20.
Each addition features Auston Matthews as the cover star! The game will be sold with two different editions, the Standard Edition and the X-Factor Edition. There will be a separate price tag for each edition.
For more on the cover athlete for NHL 22, and more information on the editions, head here.
Release Date
We now have an official release date for NHL 22, as stated above, the game releases on October 15, 2021. The great news is if you pre order the X-Factor Edition, you'll get three days of Early Access.
Some thought the game might be released early but we believe that they're taking some extra time to get everything ready to debut on next gen systems. That shouldn't worry Xbox One users though as the game will likely cater to both groups of users.
We'll get a better look at the game when the Closed Technical Test begins. With the test starting in late August, they'll likely need a month to tweak things before the release date.
Price on Xbox One
Next Gen versions have better graphics and extra new features so they'll have to pay a little more. However current gen players should be happy the game will stay at its usual price.
On Xbox One, the Standard Edition of the game will cost $59.99, the X-Factor Edition of the game will cost $99.99.
We don't quite know all the differences between the Standard Edition and X-Factor Edition just yet but with the release date coming that should be revealed soon.
