The NBA 2K21 Next-Gen Gameplay Reveal Trailer is our first real look at the game on next-gen hardware, and it's an amazing start.
The trailer shows several life-like shots across its near 2 minute run time, and is generating plenty of hype for early to mid November when players can enjoy it on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PS5!

Next-gen gameplay features
Some huge additions to gameplay are coming with next-gen.
Shooting, dribbling, and passing are all getting added features, mostly around better physics, more realistic animations, and higher levels of control than ever before!
Release Date
NBA 2K21 will be live on launch day for both next-gen console families.
For PS5 and PS5 Digital Edition, this is either 12 November or 19 November depending on your region under Sony's staggered release schedule.
For Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, this is 10 November.

This means NBA 2K21 players will get their first taste of next-gen gameplay in the Microsoft camp.
NBA 2K21 on Next-Gen
To play NBA 2K21 on next-gen consoles on launch day, players with the Mamba Forever Edition will be able to jump right in.
Others will have to purchase the NBA 2K21 Next-Gen Standard Edition to access next-gen exclusive features.

Players with the Current-Gen Standard Edition of the game can still play on next-gen consoles thanks to backwards compatibility, but won't have access to exclusive next-gen features that are still to be announced.
Next-Gen Gameplay Features
NBA 2K21 will have several next-gen exclusive gameplay features. But thus far, we haven't gotten much in terms of concrete information on them.

We can expect this to come sometime between now and launch day for next-gen consoles, which begins 10 November.

We expect some major improvements to MyPLAYER, MyCAREER, MyLEAGUE, and more, as all modes but NBA 2K21 MyTEAM will not carry over progress to the next-gen editions of the game.
