MLB Tap Sports Baseball 2022 by EA Sports is available now
While this isn't the first installment of this MLB mobile game franchise, MLB Tap Sports Baseball 2022 is the first since Electronic Arts acquired Glu Mobile last year.
MLB Tap Sports Baseball 2022 is already available now as a free download worldwide on the App Store for iPhone and iPad or the Google Play Store for Android and Amazon devices.
The simple controls and tap-to-play approach that has produced over 56 million franchise downloads worldwide arrive once again, but this year's installment also has a handful of new features coming with it.
Champions Tier offers a new way for players to earn rewards for their accomplishments by completing challenging tasks to rank in Club Events and climb up through Champions Tiers for the top rewards.
Avatar Gear will allow you to customize your team in new ways as you equip your avatar with gear that provides in-game boosts for your lineup in addition to the added style.
New flexible leaderboards for different in-game scenarios will mean more rewards from new Club events and weekly content, and this year's game is getting graphics upgrades with better player models and a cleaner, more streamlined user interface.
Bryce Harper chosen as this year's cover athlete
As announced by EA Sports, the man selected as the MLB Tap Sports Baseball 2022 cover athlete is none other than last year's National League MVP Bryce Harper.
At just 29-years-old, Harper has already made his mark on the league including his run with the National from 2012 to 2018 resulting in him being named a 6-time All-Star, 2012 NL Rookie of the Year, 2015 NL home run leader, and winning the Silver Slugger and NL Hank Aaron awards in 2015.
He kept that rolling last year in just Harper's third season with the Philadelphia Phillies as he finished the season with a .309 batting average, 35 home runs, and 84 RBIs. He also led the National League with 78 extra base hits and tied the Major League lead with 42 doubles.
After an unforgettable season, Bryce Harper was named National League MVP and also won both the Silver Slugger Award and NL Hank Aaron Award for the second time in his career.
