We recently wrote about whether or not there was reason to be concerned about the lack of communication from the team behind Hogwarts Legacy. All-in-all, it does feel like opportunities have been missed to provide insight into how the game is coming along leaving those looking forward to its release a little disappointed.
Recent developments actually point towards the release still taking place this year. So, when is Hogwarts Legacy coming out? Who should we believe and why are the developers still staying quiet?
Hogwarts Legacy Release Window Confirmed?
After leaks suggested that Hogwarts Legacy had been delayed to Q3 2023, WarnerMedia CEO Jason Kilar has offered a response.
Both Hogwarts Legacy and Gotham Knights fall under the WarnerBros publishing department and it's been stated here that they are still set to release in 2022. It's hard to imagine any reason why a CEO would step forward with information like this if there was any belief that a delay was incoming.
Of course, shareholders will be keeping a close eye on things like release dates because they give an indication of when revenue will be generated off a property like Hogwarts Legacy. Delays can also affect the value of their stock on the public market.
There aren't currently any major events planned for the first two quarters of the year meaning there are no obvious opportunities for Hogwarts Legacy to reappear with and decent build-up.
We could receive short notice for a Sony State of Play event and surely if this was to happen, Hogwarts Legacy would be a prime candidate for showing up. We're expecting a new trailer soon to help reinvigorate interest in the game for its planned 2022 release.
Here's hoping that the trailer - whenever it's released - does more than enough to make up for lost time since its official reveal back in September 2020.
