Will Madden 23 be on PS4?

It's finally time to get excited for Madden 23 as this longstanding football simulation franchise gets prepared for their next chapter.

John Madden is once again the face of the game, but many are worried Madden 23 might not be available for PS4 players.

Will Madden 23 be on PS4?

Madden 21 was the first game in the franchise to branch out onto PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, but that moment started a ticking clock as players worry Madden 23 could be the first to ignore the past generation of consoles.

Fortunately we have good news, as Madden 23 is confirmed to be released on PS4 as well as Xbox One, PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PS5.

This will only be the third year that the Madden franchise has been launched on that set of platforms, but it's far from the first time they've navigated the generation gap.

Madden 2001 was the first to make it onto PS2, but Madden 2005 was the final game released on PS1.

If we jump ahead, Madden 07 was the first on PS3, but the final PS2 installment ended up being Madden 12.

Now, a full decade later, Madden 23 continues to carry on that crossover as it will once again hit both the current and past generation of platforms.

FieldSENSE and other features will not be available on PS4

Sadly, there is bad news when it comes to Madden 23 on PS4 as the continued evolution of the series has left EA Sports more than willing to leave things out of the past generation versions.

Last year, Madden 22 introduced a new set of Dynamic Gameday features only available in the Xbox Series X|S and PS5 versions of the game.

That is set to continue this year as new gameplay system FieldSENSE will revamp the core mechanics exclusively on Xbox Series X|S and PS5.

NEXT GEN EXCLUSIVE: FieldSENSE will not be on Xbox One, PS4, or PC

This could be frustrating news for many players, but it's important to keep in mind as EA Sports will heavily focus on the FieldSENSE innovations to the physics system and way players interact.

As exciting as those upgrades are, and they really could help carry the Madden 23 gameplay to a new level, players need to be aware that PS4, Xbox One, and PC versions of the title won't have any of those new features.
