Madden 23 Update 1.03 is next up to bring some important bug fixes to this year's game, and Patch Notes will reveal what made the cut.

Here's everything we know so far about the Madden 23 September Title Update and when it's expected to arrive.

Madden 23 Update 1.03: September Title Update Release Date

We're now a few weeks out from the launch of Madden 23, and the game that showed so much promise has faced plenty of struggle.

Ultimate Team has been plagued by progression and rewards issues, Franchise Mode is standing on a busted Free Agency upgrade, and Face of the Franchise is falling apart on many players.

Exact timing tends to vary a bit each year, but EA has stuck pretty consistently to the monthly Title Update format as of late.

TICK TOCK: Fans are waiting for several major fixes to arrive

So far, Madden 23 got a quick launch update and a small August Title Update on August 29 that made some minor stability fixes and tuned pass blocking.

With that update landing so late in August, we expect they'll wait at least two weeks before the September Title Update arrives.

As a result, we believe the most likely release date for the Madden 23 September Title Update, which will be Madden 23 Update 1.03 on PS4, is Thursday, September 15, 2022.

We likely won't know the confirmed release date until the update itself deploys, as EA tends to keep radio silence until it's time for the update to actually land.

Patch Notes must address Face of the Franchise & Franchise Mode

While there are a flurry of issues that need to be fixed in Madden 23 Update 1.03, two game modes require the most attention.

Most of the issues in Ultimate Team have already been resolved, or are further along in being addressed, as EA seemed to have more urgency in taking care of them.

Franchise Mode saw a potentially exciting upgrade to the Free Agency system this year, but those new mechanics are releasing top talent and breaking immersion entirely for Franchise.

Significant tuning is needed to address these problems, which Player Tags and Player Motivations don't seem to be helping with as intended, along with various crashes and bugs elsewhere in Franchise.

On the career mode front, Face of the Franchise seems fond of completely crashing or falling apart at the seams for many players.

We made it through three seasons before the save glitched out and forced retirement, but many players aren't getting past a single season in FOTF.

If EA hopes to turn the tide for frustrated Franchise Mode and Face of the Franchise players and their opinion of this year's game, major fixes need to arrive in the Madden 23 September Title Update.
