Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 4 is now over, with Season 5 kicking soon!
The Galactus event was a huge end to the season, but what's next?
Latest News - Patch Notes
Unsurprisingly, the new season on Fortnite comes with some updates!
You can see the full Patch Notes here.
Players Will Drive The Battle Bus During Galactus Event
It has now been confirmed by Epic Games that players will be able to drive the Battle Bus as part of the upcoming Galactus event.
Recently they have been hinting at it, such as by showing Gamma Cells loaded in the Battle Bus, presumably to use the bus as an RC missile.
In the tweet it shows three Battle Buses flying through the night sky with the caption "You do know how to drive the Battle Bus.. right?"
The Fortnite characters have loaded the buses with Gamma Cells, could these be enough to take down Galactus and save the Fortnite map?
With the event being the biggest yet, 4GB in size compared to the Black Hole event which was 480MB, it seems this will be a long event with many twists and turns.
When Does Season 4 End?
Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 4 ended on Tuesday, 1 December.
The Countdown Has Begun
The countdown has begun for the end of season event.
The countdown is currently showing that the event will take place on Tuesday, 1 December at 4pm EST / 9pm GMT.
What to Expect
There is a lot of speculation as to what Season 5 might have in store.
With rumours that the Marvel story may continue, to even rumours of the old map, or at least a hybrid, coming to the game.
But with Season 5 taking place during the holidays, much like Chapter 1 Season 7, it is possible that the game, and Battle Pass, will be more holiday-themed again.
Black Hole 2
It has been leaked that Galactus will destroy the current Chapter 2 map, taking us to a two-day downtime like the black hole event.
With the event taking place on 1 December, the game will remain offline until Thursday, 3 December.
A Reddit user posted a leaked clip of what will happen when players load back into the game when downtime ends.
Theme
No news regarding a theme for the new season as of yet.
Depending how the season-ending unwinds, we may get a better understanding then!
Fortnite content creator, SypherPK, recently discussed in a video what Season 5 might be like.
In the video he mentioned that the end of season event will be the biggest that we have ever seen, and the story likely won't conclude with the event.
He theorizes that the Marvel story, and the Nexus War, will likely continue into Season 5.
Good news if you're a huge fan of Chapter 2 Season 4, but not so much if you can't wait for the Mythic abilities to leave the game.

SypherPK theorizes that the event will see huge changes to the map leading into Season 5 before the story concludes at the end of next season.
Would you be happy with another Marvel themed Battle Pass?
Which skins would you like to see included next season?
New Map?
With Galactus destroying the Chapter 2 map, it is expected that Season 5 will bring a hybrid map of Chapter 1 and Chapter 2.
Salty Towers looks to be a Salty Springs/Tilted Towers hybrid, while Hunter's Haven and Stealthy Stronghold are new.
Battle Pass
Players can expect to pay 950 V-Bucks (£7.50 / $9.50) for the Battle Pass.
Over the course of the current season, you are able to earn enough Vbucks to purchase the Battle Pass for Season 6.
Along with the standard Battle Pass option, there will also be the Battle Pass Bundle option.
The bundle is going to set you back 2,800 Vbucks, and will upgrade you all the way to tier 25 of the Battle Pass.
Season 4 was entirely Marvel themed, with many characters such as Thor, Iron Man, and Wolverine making an appearance.
It appears that Season 5 won't be a themed Battle Pass and will instead go back to original Fortnite characters.
However, much like Chapter 2 Season 2 and 3, there will be a collaborative secret skin.
In Season 2 the secret skin was Deadpool, and in Season 3 it was Aquaman.
Epic Games accidentally revealed that the Season 4 secret skin will be the Mandalorian from the hit Disney+ show of the same name.
In addition to the Mandalorian, Baby Yoda/The Child will be the back bling for the skin.
This wouldn't be the first time that Epic Games has collaborated with Star Wars.
In December 2019 a Star Wars event was held to promote the release of Star Wars Episode 9: The Rise of Skywalker.
Star Wars is owned by Disney, like Marvel, which is likely the reason for the heavy focus on both the Star Wars and Marvel franchises.
There is also currently an offer where players that purchase V-Bucks in-game will receive 2 free months of Disney+.
The Mandalorian is the flagship show of Disney+ so this could further draw attention to the platform.
Skins
We cannot confirm any skins will be appearing in the next Season, we do not know the theme as of now.
If the new season is Marvel-themed once again, we can possibly see some sort of take on a Marvel Peely.
Something fans would love for sure!
Weapons
A lot of speculation in each season is what weapons we are going to see added and removed.
Wad/Cash
Fortnite Leaker HYPEX has revealed that a new "Wad" item will be coming to the game in the future.
These are essentially cash and can be found in stashes or in safes.
It is presumed that these will be used to purchase items, weapons, and healables.
This should act similar to the Vending Machines that used to be in the game, except you use Wads instead of materials.
Fire Extinguisher
HYPEX recently leaked the addition of the Fire Extinguisher.
It was said that is may be coming to Creative rather than Battle Royale.
This would mean it could be used in this like Deathruns or other player made mini-games.
But it would make sense for it to come to Battle Royale as a combat for items such as Firefly's, which set buildings on fire and cause them to be destroyed.
This would be a great counter to items and weapons and cause fire.

It could also be used to escape from enemies by creating a cloud of smoke, much like the Smoke Bomb that has been in the game previously.
Its also possibly we may see a Creative LTM where we have to extinguish fires in a competitive format.
Slurp Bazooka
Another leaked item that was noted a few patches ago is the Slurp Bazooka.
This item we assume is going to work the same as the Bandage Bazooka; which can either heal yourself or your team mates.
The Slurp aspect of the item will be shield rather than white health, so a high valued items for sure!
We have seen numerous leaks of the Slurp Bazooka since the release of Season 4, so this appears to be a likely contender for the new season.
Perhaps a brand new shotgun will be added, as we only have the Pump and Combat as of now!
