The hotly anticipated Ratings Week continues and we now have official confirmation of the top 25 highest-rated Serie A stars in FIFA 23.
However, judging from the latest ratings, it looks as though the Italian league has fallen significantly behind the rest of Europe's top five leagues.
Unfortunately for fans of the Serie A, there will be no players even close to entering the 90 club this time around...
Serie A left in the DUST
To the surprise of many, Italy's highest-rated player in the first division has only been handed an 87 OVR card.
When you compare this to the top players from the other elite European leagues it's pretty damning for the Serie A.
The Premier League boasts three players in the 90 club, including Kevin de Bruyne (OVR 91) who s the joint-highest rated player in the game, along with plenty more cards rated between 87 OVR and 89 OVR.
Two of the joint highest-rated players in the game, Robert Lewandowski and Karim Benzema play in La Liga, whilst the same goes for France's Ligue 1.
Despite losing Lewandowski to La Liga, the German Bundesliga still holds a 90-club member along with several 88 OVR and 89 OVR players.
Furthermore, an Italian club has not won the UEFA Champions League since the 2002/03 season.
So, how has Italy fallen so far behind? We wish we had the answers.
Entire Serie A Top 25
It's no surprise to see several AC Milan players upgrades heavily this year, after their league-winning campaign in 2021/22.
As mentioned previously, Maignan has been bumped up by three overall points, taking him to an 87 OVR, whilst Sandro Tonali has been handed a GIANT +7 OVR.
Theo Hernandez has been handed a +1 overall, taking him to an 85 OVR in FIFA 23 and potentially making the Frenchman the best left-back in the game.
Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has deservedly been handed a -2 downgrade ahead of the release of this year's title.
