The Team of the Year (TOTY) promo is approaching fast in FIFA 22 Ultimate Team, with the Warmup Series now underway.
The TOTY vote has now officially closed and we've started to see the voting percentages for the nominees leaked via social media.
The FIFA 22 News page that has provided the vote percentages has stated that "all data is recorded from thousands of responses from [his] own research", with other leaked data backing up these stats.
So, find out who is set to be included in the FIFA 22 TOTY right here.
Goalkeepers
It was always going to be between two goalkeepers for the FIFA 22 TOTY spot, with both Edouard Mendy and Gianluigi Donnarumma having outstanding years.
PSG's summer signing, Donnarumma was one of the heroes in Italy's Euro 2020 win as he made it a double scoop on the night, picking up the player of the tournament award too.
Senegal international Edouard Mendy has been simply faultless since he arrived at Stamford Bridge, and topped off a fantastic year by lifting the UEFA Champions League Trophy with Chelsea.
The early votes suggest that Donnarumma will pip Mendy to a TOTY spot in FUT 22, but it's a VERY tight call!
Defenders
Four spots are up for grabs in the TOTY defence and there were some brilliant defenders to pick from in 2021!
Manchester City and Portugal international duo Joao Cancelo and Ruben Dias are well ahead in the vote for TOTY defenders.
This is hardly surprising given the impact the two have had on the incredible Premier League-winning Man City team over the past year.
Ruben Dias is closely followed by Brazilian centre-half Marquinhos, who was selected by 55% of voters.
Marquinhos is no doubt deserving of a TOTY spot having performed brilliantly for PSG, but his selection may have been influenced by how overpowered his TOTY card will be in-game.
Liverpool's Trent Alexander-Arnold and Chelsea's Antonio Rudiger are battling it out for the fourth and final spot, but it looks like the German could just make the team.
Midfielders
The Team of the Year midfield will be made up of three players, and it looks like one man is well ahead of the rest of the nominees!
Chelsea and France World Cup-winner N'Golo Kante has been selected by an astonishing 78.6% of voters - the highest of any nominee across the board!
It's no surprise that Belgian midfield maestro Kevin De Bruyne is next in the votes for midfielders, with the Manchester City playmaker showing his class once again throughout 2021.
The third spot in looks to be taken by yet another Premier League player, Jorginho.
The Italian won both the EUFA Champions League and Euro 2020 whilst finishing third in the Ballon d'Or in 2021.
Attackers
Once again, three spots are up for grabs for the TOTY attacker nominees.
Bayern Munich number nine Robert Lewandowski was always going to be included this year and the TOTY votes back that up!
The Polish striker scored a mammoth 69 goals in 2021 across all competitions, matching Cristiano Ronaldo's best year back in 2013.
2021 Ballon d'Or Lionel Messi looks to have claimed the next attacker TOTY place and will surely claim another 99 OVR card after being voted in as the 12th man in FIFA 21.
The little magician is closely followed by Liverpool's Egyptian King Mohamed Salah, who has been selected by 50% of voters.
Mo Salah has been simply world-class in 2021, leading the scoring charts in the toughest league in the world.
This means the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Kylian Mbappe will miss out on the FIFA 22 TOTY unless they claim a spot as the 12th man, which we expect will be a surprise to many fans!
