Latest - Team 1 is here
EA have released the first set of Road to the Knockouts cards, which includes some players gaining a double increase in their ratings.
As well as Team 1 now being available in packs, we have also been given a new SBC to gain a RTTK Matthijs de Ligt and an objective to get RTTK Benjamin Andre.
First three RTTK cards revealed
We now know the first three Road to the Knockouts cards, thanks to a Tweet from @ChampionsLeague.
Vidal, Rodrygo and Marquinhos are the chosen players, all of whom are playing Champions League football - which explains the source of this information.
There were rumours that the initial cards would receive a larger boost than normal, to keep them relevant for longer, and that is exactly what has happened, with them gaining a double upgrade from their base cards.
Five RTTK cards leaked ahead of release
According to DonkTrading on Twitter, some HUGE players will be getting RTTK cards.
The confirmed Road to the Knockouts players are:
- Son Heung-min
- Leroy Sane
- Marquinhos
- Benjamin Andre
- Ryan Gravenberch
Three teased in loading screen
Three players have been teased in the latest FUT 22 loading screen, but who could they be?
Premier League forwards Jamie Vardy and Michail Antonio appear to be popular guesses for the Europa League card on the left.
Manchester United and France superstar Paul Pogba could be a contender for the middle card, although Leon Goretzka would be epic too.
On the right is a real challenge, although the Premier League seems to be a favourite once more with Spurs stars Lucas Moura, Steven Bergwijn, and Emerson Royal all mentioned.
New card types
The new loading screen on FUT has shown us three new card types for the Road to the Knockouts event.
These correlate with the three European competitions of the Champions League, Europa League, and Europa Conference League.
That will give us plenty of new player cards from all the top teams in Europe.
More special items than ever before
In the past, we have seen a large set of basic cards for players competing in the Champions League and we are expecting the same.
However, this new event could usurp what has gone before, with new competition the Europa Conference League being added to the mix.
We doubt this would happen, so be prepared for more special items than ever before when this promo hits.
Upgrade system confirmed
EA has given FUT a new loading screen, which has revealed more details ahead of the Road to the Knockouts event.
Upgrades will be rewarded to players if their team progresses from the group stage, and also if their team wins three of the next four group stage matches.
For everything else you need to know about the event, read on below.
How to get the cards
As with all promo events, the cards will be available through packs.
We also expect to see objectives and SBCs to complete, making these new cards more accessible to all players.
Release Date
The Road to the Knockouts event went live on Friday, 15 October, at 1pm ET / 6pm BST.
It is not known how long the event will run for, but a two-week promo would run nicely into the Halloween event Ultimate Scream for Friday, 29 October.
