POTM winner leaked

Fut Sheriff has revealed the January Premier League Player of the Month winner and the player who will be getting a special SBC card in Ultimate Team.

That's right, Manchester United and Spain international goalkeeper David De Gea is January's POTM!

The Spaniard may have only kept one clean sheet in four appearances last month, but was simply outstanding in everything he did on the pitch.

Nominees Revealed

A total of six Premier League players are up for the January Player of the Month award, so it is time to get voting for your favourite.

Kevin De Bruyne is the highest-rated star on the list, but Manchester rival David De Gea could prove tough competition.

Release Date

The official nominees out now, although Sterling’s Player of the Month SBC does not expire until Sunday, 13 February.

We thought it would be unlikely to see a new SBC released until Friday, 11 February, however, EA has gone early as the Premier League is now in its ‘winter break’.

Kevin De Bruyne

Man City's winning streak may have come to an end in January, but Belgian playmaker Kevin De Bruyne was in scintillating form.

A goal against Chelsea and an assist against Southampton don't do KDB justice as he was head and shoulders above the rest.

David De Gea

David De Gea may have kept just one clean sheet in four games in January, but without him, Man Utd would not have picked up seven points.

The Spaniard was in top form to keep Brentford at bay in the first half of their 3-1 win, and that display alone is enough to earn him a nomination for POTM.

James Ward-Prowse

Is there a better free-kick taker in the world right now? James Ward-Prowse is simply sensational when stood over a set-piece.

JWP scored an incredible goal against Wolves and provided an assist against Brentford to earn a spot on this month's POTM shortlist.

Joao Moutinho

A mainstay in midfield, Joao Moutinho’s purple patch has coincided with Wolves’ terrific form since the turn of the year as they have won three in a row.

Moutinho scored the only goal of the game against Man Utd, and then scored and assisted in the 2-1 win over Brentford to earn a spot on the Player of the Month shortlist.

Jarrod Bowen

West Ham might not have enjoyed their best month of the season, but English winger Jarrod Bowen has been terrific in front of goal.

Bowen scored three times in the month, including a brace against Norwich as the Hammers continue their push for Champions League football.

Jack Harrison

Four goals in January make Jack Harrison the Premier League’s top scorer in 2022, so he fully deserves to be nominated for the Player of the Month award.

Harrison’s haul includes a clinical hat-trick against West Ham in a 3-2 thriller, ensuring Harrison took home the match ball.
