The latest FIFA 22 ratings update just went live, and EA has made some BIG calls this week regarding the most famous footballer in the world.
Manchester United and Portugal legend Cristiano Ronaldo has been handed downgrades across the board in FIFA 22 and here's why...
CR7 in decline
Having scored just one goal in his past ten matches, Cristiano Ronaldo is suffering the worst spell in his career.
Manchester United's failure to score at Old Trafford against Watford highlighted just how much the 37-year-old has declined over the past couple of years.
One of the reasons behind his poor form could be the fact that he has started four games in the last 11 days, but Edinson Cavani’s fitness issues mean there aren’t many options for Ralf Rangnick upfront.
Cristiano Ronaldo came close to scoring twice in the first quarter of the game, hitting the post in the fourth minute before putting the ball in the back of the net 12 minutes later, but only for it to be ruled out for offside.
However, as the game progressed, Ronaldo got worse and ended the game as one of United’s worst players.
Ronaldo's body is finally deteriorating and his output in terms of goal contributions has slowed down massively as a result.
Dribbling drops off
After a run of dreadful performances, EA has finally taken action and downgraded several of Ronaldo's in-game stats.
CR7's dribbling, which was his main attribute when he first burst onto the scene at Manchester United, has been hit hard in the latest update.
The famous number 7's agility has been downgraded by FOUR points from 86 to 82, along with a balance downgrade from 74 to 72, causing his overall dribbling to drop to 86.
Agility and balance are so key to forwards in FIFA 22 and these downgrades make CR7 significantly worse in-game.
EA has also downgraded Ronaldo's finishing from 95 to 94 and his longshots from 93 to 92 after failing to score easy chances for United. These are still top-tier stats in these departments.
Acrobat no longer
Not only has EA downgraded several of Cristiano Ronaldo's in-game stats, but one of CR7's specialities has also been taken off of him.
Ronaldo no longer has the 'Acrobat' speciality in FIFA 22.
We all remember THAT bicycle kick goal in the Champions League, where CR7 showed an incredible acrobatic ability to score one of the best goals in UCL history.
The Portuguese legend has scored countless other acrobatic goals over the years, but it seems his ageing body won't allow him to execute these types of finishes anymore.
