EA Sports FC - Online Career Mode, Ultimate Team & more CONFIRMED for upcoming release

We now know that EA Sports FC is the future of the franchise and will be arriving in 2023.

With the release date edging closer, speculation has been rife on social media surrounding what the game will actually include.

Well, we're here to take you through some of the confirmed EA Sports FC game modes and what they could look like in the hotly anticipated football sim.

Online Career Mode

The FIFA community has been calling for an online Career Mode for many years, and many thought their wishes had been answered when a job listing surfaced in the lead-up to FIFA 22 for an 'Online Software Engineer' working on 'online career mode'.

The community was teased yet again at a behind-closed-doors press event when the FIFA 23 Gameplay Producer Sam Rivera said that an online Career Mode for EA SPORTS FC was "definitely being considered”.

However, it seems the community's prayers have finally been answered, with an online Career Mode confirmed for the first-ever EA Sports FC title, according to @UTSources on Twitter.

How will online Career Mode work?

We are in unprecedented times, so we can only speculate on how an online Career Mode could work in EA Sports FC at this moment.

PLEASE EA - We'd love to see an online Career Mode in EA Sports FC

There's a chance EA could integrate it as a PvP-style game mode where various teams in a league are controlled and managed by other random players.

However, this seems a bit of a stretch, and we think there's a greater possibility we see a more social mode introduced, allowing you and your friends to play together in a private league.

EA Ultimate Team

Despite plenty of concerns among the FIFA community, we now have confirmation that EA will be bringing their own version of Ultimate Team to EA Sports FC.

Perhaps we could finally see certain long-awaited features introduced to Ultimate Team that the userbase has been asking for for years.

EVERY TIME - This man has been included in countless promotional events

First of all, we'd love to see more promo player variety. There has been far too much recycling of the same old cards within promos over the past few years and player upgrades are becoming too big, too soon.

The main idea behind this is to achieve a more steady power throughout the year.

We'd also like to see a new gameplay meta in EA Sports FC, with the community loving this year's title not being focused purely on pace.

Pro Clubs

You'll be glad to know that Pro Clubs is returning to EA Sports FC!

Again, at long last, we might see some innovative ideas implemented into the beloved game mode.

The introduction of training drills would be a welcomed one. These would allow you to practice set-piece moves with your teammates or go head to head in mini 2v2 matches.

SET PIECE SPECIALISTS - Training drills would be an awesome addition to Pro Clubs

Pro Clubs players would be overjoyed to see in-game substitutions and the ability to reconnect to the game after being kicked out introduced.

More customisation options would be great too, of course.

More game modes confirmed

As well as these popular game modes, the reliable @UTSources has revealed that EA Sports FC will feature the following:

  • Kick Off Mode
  • Online Seasons
  • Tournaments

It remains to be seen whether Co-Op Seasons or House Rules Kick Off games will be included in EA Sports FC.
