EA Sports FC 24 has been officially confirmed, with the brand new game from the titular developer signalling a new start in the world of sports gaming.
With the start of a new era comes plenty of change, and this year things could look more different than ever before.
One such change could be the price tag, with many asking whether EA Sports FC will be free to play.
Check below to find out the answer, as well as everything we know about EA Sports FC 24 so far.
Will EA Sports FC 24 be free?
EA has not yet confirmed whether EA Sports FC will be free to play.
However, it's incredibly unlikely that the game will be available for free.
Unlike games such as eFootball, EA will rely massively on sales in order to fund future projects and turn a profit.
With sales numbers hitting record highs in recent years, EA certainly does not need to worry about changing to a free-to-play model for EA Sports FC 24.
We expect the new game to be priced at roughly the same value as we have seen FIFA games in recent years, which would mean the game is not free.
FIFA 23 was made available to purchase on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
FIFA 23 was priced as follows:
- FIFA 23 Playstation 4 (£59.99)
- FIFA 23 Xbox One (£59.99)
- FIFA 23 Playstation 5 (£69.99)
- FIFA 23 Xbox Series X|S (£69.99)
- FIFA 23 PC (£69.99)
- FIFA 23 Nintendo Switch (£34.99)
Due to the implementation of next-generation exclusive features like HyperMotion2.0, the PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S editions of the game were made more expensive.
EA FC Release Date
If EA sticks to its usual sporting schedule, EA Sports FC will likely see a release date on Friday, 29 September 2023, in keeping with the FIFA titles that have gone before.
However, there have been whisperings of an early release date in keeping with the start of the real-life football season. With the 2023/24 Premier League season kicking off on the weekend of Saturday, 12 August, we could see a release date in mid-August instead!
EA Sports FC 24 Leaks
One thing we do know about EA Sports FC 24 is that we have reached the leak stage of the game's development, with official information not landing until July.
Prolific leaker @FUTZONEFIFA has taken to Twitter to reveal a host of new information regarding FC 24, with news leaking for pretty much every feature you can imagine.
Here's a breakdown of everything leaked so far by FUTZONE:
As you can see, the main headline features centre around dynamic packs and cross-play coming to Pro Clubs.
Cross-play implementation for Pro Clubs has been wanted for some time and the arrival of this feature is set to please a wide range of players.
Something more controversial, however, is the confirmation that dynamic packs are coming to FC 24, with this feature rewarding those who spend money in the game.
