It’s been a little over a day since Destiny 2: Lightfall launched and although the new expansion has introduced new content for players to enjoy, it's also brought on tons of issues.
Ranging from Xbox Series X|S users not being able to log onto Destiny 2 to the disabling of weapons such as the Jötunn Exotic fusion rifle, there's been many problems that players have been encountering.
In response to that, the developers at Bungie have been listing down each problem.

Bungie reveals list of known issues in Destiny 2: Lightfall
According to Bungie via the Destiny 2 Help Forum, there are currently over 20 issues occurring in Lightfall.
Here are all of the issues Bungie has pointed out at the moment.
General
- The Arc Hunter's Disorienting Blow melee has been temporarily disabled.
- Opening the Commendations Snapshot screen sometimes causes the game to crash.
- The Guardian Ranks seasonal reset text incorrectly states that ranks 6 through 10 are advance ranks and players at these ranks will reset to rank 5 at the end of the season. Ranks 7 through 11 are advance ranks and players at these ranks will reset to rank 6 at the end of the season.
Cross Play
- Changing the platform setting " Others can communicate w/ voice, text, or invites " does not take effect until the game has been restarted.
PC
- We're investigating reports of players unable to login through Steam and are stuck on the loading spinner.
- We are investigating reports of issues related to low performance on PCs .
- Players running Destiny with an integrated graphics card may encounter gameplay performance issues if the integrated graphics card does not meet the minimum required PC specs.
- Laptops with Intel 12th generation Iris integrated graphics may crash in high demand environments. Players can mitigate these crashes by ensuring Windows 10 is set to use only discrete graphics when running Destiny 2 via Windows->Settings->Graphics Settings, and selecting "High Performance" for Destiny 2.
Console
- We are investigating reports of Xbox Series X|S players unable to login to Destiny 2. Players who are blocked from logging in can try the workaround steps outlined here.
- We are investigating an increase in crashes on Xbox Consoles.
- Players using the PlayStation 4 version of Destiny 2 who receive BOAR errors should ensure that they have successfully downloaded the necessary Compatibility Files prior to entering the game.
Items and Weapons
- The Jötunn Exotic fusion rifle has been temporarily disabled.
- The Manticore Exotic SMG cannot be obtained from Collections.
- The Elemental Reload mods are not properly activating when players first load into an activity or respawn after dying. Players can remove and re-equip the mods to re-apply the buffs.
- The Swarmers Warlock Exotic Legs do not create Threadlings when a Tangle is thrown if a player has the Strand Shackle grenade equipped.
- The Quicksilver Storm Exotic auto rifle and Touch of Malice Exotic scout rifle have lost their 40% damage increase against red bar enemies.
- Activating Fourth Times the Charm with the first shot in Revision Zero's alternate fire mode results in players losing all alternative fire shots and kicking them from the alternative firing mode.
- The Hyperborean Pinion Exotic sparrow cannot be obtained from Collections.
Quests and Triumphs
- The "Ascendant Scepter Mods" Triumph from Season of Defiance is counting previous Season 19 mod unlocks for its completion total, allowing some players to complete this triumph early. Players who did not unlock enough artifact mods during Season 19 are currently blocked from completing this Triumph.
- Veteran players starting Lightfall at Guardian Rank 6 will not receive Vanguard Lore Books 1 through 6 and will only receive Vanguard Lore Book 7.
Activities
- Players who leave the HyperNet Current strike early may be blocked from progressing further in the Lightfall campaign.
- The "Shielded Foes" activity modifier is showing a placeholder icon.
- Master Dungeons aren't showing Artifice armor in the reward preview when selecting the activity.
- We are investigating an issue causing players to be unable to join Competitive Crucible matches after their in-game suspension is scheduled to expire. Players affected by this issue can resolve it by playing a match of Competitive Crucible with an alternate character.
