WoW Classic TBC XP Buff is LIVE: Joyous Journeys arrives ahead of WotLK pre patch

While many players have been preparing for Wrath of the Lich King Classic for weeks, the Joyous Journeys experience buff has finally appeared on WoW Classic servers.

So what does this massive experience buff offer, and how does it work?

WoW Classic TBC XP Buff Joyous Journeys is LIVE

On June 21, 2022, Blizzard Entertainment revealed that a "global buff" dubbed "Joyous Journeys" would be implemented in the following weeks of July. This buff—that affects all players on all servers—makes it so all sources of experience points award 50% additional XP. This extra experience includes quests, dungeons, and everything in-between.

This means that for the duration of the buff, all players in TBC Classic will get to benefit from an XP increase in preparation for WotLK Classic which is expected to begin on September 26th.

Although the WoW Classic WotLK release date isn't confirmed, according to the original Blizzard blue post, players can expect the Joyous Journeys buff to "last for at least 6-8 weeks" beginning a few weeks before the Classic WotLK Pre Patch and lasting up until launch day.

This means that players will have an ample amount of time to get their desired characters up to speed—and that's not just in levels either.

Additionally, the Joyous Journeys buff will also be active on all of the WotLK Classic fresh start realms as well, making it a great way for newer players to either hit the ground running with their characters or get caught up in levels quickly during the Classic WotLK pre patch.

These include the new talent trees, new abilities, the Death Knight hero class, and more.

Additionally, players can look forward to the pre-patch events such as the Zombie Plague and possibly even special time-limited bosses such as Balzaphon in Stratholme or Tenris Murkblood in Karazhan.
