Madden 23 is just weeks away from launch, and next gen platforms are getting another year with a wave of exclusive new features.
However, many are wondering if those will extend to PC for Madden 23 after failing to do so last year.
Will Madden 23 be next gen on PC?
As much as it continues to make zero sense, EA will once again keep all the next gen features gated to Xbox Series X|S and PS5 only.
Unfortunately, that means PC players will be without massive upgrades this year like the new FieldSENSE gameplay system.
While those on the two next gen consoles will have updated animations and physics across the board, players on PC, Xbox One, and PS4 will remain stuck with last year's gameplay engine.

There also isn't much hope on the horizon for a change in this realm soon, as even competitor NBA 2K all but confirmed it's not a focus for the industry right now.
EA has not officially commented on the lack of next gen features on PC, but 2K did say "This is something the team is passionate about and will continue to investigate what is possible for the franchise in the future. For now, the focus was on assuring NBA 2K23 was optimized for the new consoles (PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S), while also making sure the experience remains fresh and innovative for players on other platforms."
What new features will Madden 23 have on current gen?
While gameplay improvements from FieldSENSE won't be available, there is hope that Madden 23 will still have some new features for current gen players.
With launch still several weeks out, there are plenty of deep dives into Franchise Mode and other parts of the game still to come.
We do know that Franchise is getting some upgrades in the form of a contracts feature that hasn't been seen since Madden 15.
However, little else has been learned so far when it comes to new features on Madden 23 that current gen players can also enjoy.
