Two versus two gulag has been controversial ever since its release, with many players not liking having to rely on a random teammate. This should make the gulag a much more consistent experience, and feel much more rewarding.

Additionally, the Warzone 2 Gulag weapon cache has been updated, to include Assault Rifles, Submachine Guns, and Light Machine Guns as Primary Weapons as the Circles progress.

For those leaving the arena victorious, the Gulag will grant a larger Cash reward to players. This change to cash will allow redeploying players to get back on their feet a bit faster.

Looting Changes

Warzone 2 is shifting away from loot windows/menus to floating loot that will now drop out of all containers in the world, similar to loot from Supply Boxes. This will bring it in line with the looting system of the original Warzone, which many players preferred.

The change is intended to improve the pace of gameplay by reducing time spent navigating the UI and getting players back in the action faster. Backpack sizes will also be reduced, with everyone now having the same size.

This will subsequently reduce the impact of stacking medical supplies, Equipment, and Killstreaks in Warzone 2.

Loadout Drop Changes

Season 2 will introduce customizable Perk Packages! This feature will launch with a slightly reduced pool of available Perks, which will be slowly reintroduced over time. This should make for a more balanced experience.
