Rainbow Six Siege fans may be looking forward to Operation Crimson Heist, but what about the Six Invitational 2021?
After facing unprecedented delays, the biggest Rainbow Six Siege esports tournament in the world WILL go ahead sooner rather than later with a new, updated, events schedule from Ubisoft.
Below we have everything you need to know about when the Six Invitational 2021 event will begin.
Six Invitational 2021
It's huge news! The Six Invitational 2021 will go ahead in May 2021.
Although there aren't any specifics yet, Ubisoft is confirming that the biggest Rainbow Six Siege tournament in the world will finally take place in a few months.
The Six Invitational 2021 event had to be rescheduled after travel restrictions were implemented by the French Government in an effort to curb the COVID-19 Pandemic's spread.

Below we have a quote from the official announcement on the changes:
[The Six Invitational 2021] will replace the Season 2021 Six Major of May. The 20 teams currently qualified for the Six Invitational will retain their slot and the prize money of the event will remain unchanged, with a prize pool cap set at USD $3,000,000.
Although Ubisoft is fine-tuning their plans, this will be welcome news to anyone interested in the event.
Regional League Changes
Draws are out, Overtime is in and everything's changing in the Regional Leagues ahead of the Six Invitational 2021.
Extended rosters are coming in an attempt to help organisations facilitate effective performance at both a Regional and National level. This means each organisation will be able to have a twelve-man roster, with each sub-roster having a minimum of five players.
Separate coaches are also allowed so this could make for some exciting and unpredictable plays in the Six Invitational 2021 matches.
In addition to this, in order to accommodate for the Six Invitational 2021's new dates, Ubisoft has shifted the starting dates and times for Stage 1 of the Regional Leagues.
Below, we have a list of when Stage 1 will begin for them:
- European League: 18th March 2021 @ 17:00 GMT
- North American League: 24th March 2021 @ 16:00 ET / 13:00 PT
- Latin American League: South Division Starts 19th March 2021
- Asia-Pacific League: South Divison Starts 18th March 2021 @ 18:00 AEDT

In addition to these reviewed start times, the prize money for the originally-planned Six Major in May 2021 will be divided amongst the four regions equally with the following prize pool breakdown:
- 1st place: $62,500
- 2nd place: $31,250
- 3rd place: $18,750
- 4th place: $12,500
This will also be applied to the Global Points that will help teams qualify for the Six Invitational in 2022.
With standardised scoring across the Regional Level being implemented, Ubisoft is aiming to further improve the way Rainbow Six Siege esports operates and make it more exciting to watch.
